During a parents' race at her daughter's school sports day, a mother faceplanted and mooned the crowd. Katie Hannaford, 36, was red-faced last week after her eight-year-old persuaded her to run. The woman, from Basildon, Essex, was seen lined up in the third lane from the left in hilarious footage. The race begins, and Katie, dressed in a blue dress, sinks to the back - before collapsing to the ground.
'Clumsy' Mum Faceplants During Sports Day Race And Moons The Entire Crowd
Katie Hannaford, 36, was left red-faced after falling last week (15 June), flashing teachers, parents, and students alike while participating in the school event.
Her eight-year-old daughter reportedly persuaded her to participate in the marathon because she was desperate for her mother to do so, however she is likely to regret her decision immediately.
The mum from Basildon, Essex, lines up in the third lane from the left in the funny footage, while the crowd cheers on the competitors.
They get off to a terrific start, but Katie loses her footing and falls headfirst into the field, her bum dangling in the air.
Unfortunately, her light blue dress rises above her head, exposing her undergarments to the entire audience.
Several children can be seen turning around quickly in the background as they realize what has happened.
Fortunately, Katie, the owner of a homeware firm, saw the humor in the situation, and while she was humiliated at first, she now considers it "hilarious."
"I'm not sporty at all, but [my daughter] kept begging me," she said. "In the end, I agreed to the race – I knew I'd come last."
Katie continued: "I just tripped over my own feet – I think my body was just moving too fast for my legs! I'm so clumsy, I'm always falling over.”
"I was humiliated at the time, but it is what it is! I flashed my underwear which is obviously embarrassing but you just have to own it.”
"Looking back, it's hilarious –the funniest thing I've ever done in my life!"
She found it so amusing that she posted a video of it on her Facebook page, captioning it, "When the kids got more at sports day than they expected!" Haha.
"If you can’t laugh at yourself then what’s life about ay! Sorry kiddos and anyone else watching!"
The post quickly went viral, with hundreds of people commenting on how funny the fall was.
"I think this is a 'cracking good effort posting this and a great view for the kids," quipped one, while another said, "Omg Katie more I watch it more I laugh."
A third chimed in: "I’m laughing more this morning than I was last night."
You can always rely on the internet for some good old banter, can't you?
