Lakyra Evans is only 12 years old, but she made a very big request for Christmas this year. She wanted to be adopted.
This young girl didn't just want to be adopted herself; she wanted her whole family, siblings and mother included to be adopted this year.

She took her mother's phone and posted to Fox 2′s Facebook page, begging to be adopted this year, as her family needed more than just gifts. They needed clothing and beds.
Her pleas did not go unnoticed. The community rallied behind her, and Lakyra's family is going to have a very happy Christmas.

Not only did they get the simple basic's that she asked for, they were showered with gifts. Now, her little sister, Nahima, is very happy. She'll no longer be bullied in school for always wearing the same clothing.
Fox 2 spent days delivering these wonderful gifts and donations to the family, which had Nahima jumping for joy as she clung to her new clothing. What a wonderful Christmas miracle!
