A high-school student has tried to sell her virginity in an attempt to earn enough money to fund her brother's cancer treatment, according to Chinese media.
The 19-year-old woman, named Xu Yanhua, was spotted on a subway train in Hangzhou, where she was selling her body for 200,000 yuan ($29,000).

The girl also carries a certificate from a local hospital saying that she is indeed a virgin.
The sign reads that the girl is from the Yunnan province and is raising funds for the treatment of her 23-year-old brother who is suffering from leukemia. It further explains how her brother was diagnosed with the disease three years ago and how her bone marrow is a match for his.
Her brother experienced a negative reaction to the bone marrow transplant and now needs further treatment to save his life. Now since her family has run out of money, the girl is offering her virginity in return for money for her brother's treatment.
The girl has garnered faired amount of attention from the public and at the same time attracted the attention of police as well.
Upon discovering the girl offering her virginity in return for money, the officers escorted her back to the police station. There she explained them the whole situation regarding her brother's ailment and the costly treatment.
The story reached local news reporters who started an investigation to make sure that the girl's story was indeed legit. They located the girl's ailing brother at the hospital and found out that he is suffering from a number of other diseases. The patient also confirmed that he was the girl's brother, adding that he also had two other younger sisters.
"I can't put the cost for this treatment on my medical insurance, I guess she heard that and came to Hangzhou," he explained. "And now I know how foolish she is." This is not the first time someone has faced this situation in China. Without enough money to cover their loved one's high medical costs, they are forced to resort to selling flowers, hugs and blow-up sex dolls to raise some cash. But this is the first time we've seen someone desperate enough to sell their own body.
