24-Year Old Bride-To-Be Gets Revenge By Shedding 95 Kgs Weight And Dumps Cheating Fiance

Emily Donovan, 24, from Margam, Port Talbot, Wales, was left heartbroken after learning that her fiance was cheating on her. Instead of wallowing in pity and pain, the woman took charge and immediately dumped her fiance and started a weight-loss journey where she lost almost half her body weight. 


Emily gave up on her favorite food of takeaways, sandwiches, and crisps, and turned her heartbreak into motivation for her weight-loss journey.

Emily said: 'I think that was what kicked off my weight loss because it affected my self-confidence.


'Before I didn't want to go out and get dressed up because I didn't want to have my picture taken. It's almost as if I missed a chapter of my life.'


Emily, who works at Tata Steel in Port Talbot started running, gyming, and eating healthy and shed more than 38 kg.

She said: 'At my heaviest in September last year I was 15 stone and nine pounds and now I weigh nine stone.


'I went on holiday before I joined Slimming World to try and get over my heartbreak and that was when I decided to join.


'I vowed to be more active but I wasn't fit enough when I first started. Alongside Slimming World I signed up for Couch to 5k and my dad started running with me.

The 24-year old talking about her past says she had always been a chubby child but she lost a good chunk of her weight with Slimming World however, she gained more weight during comfort eating when she was in a relationship with her ex for 5 years.

She said: 'I got comfortable and I was eating what he was eating and not really thinking about what I was eating - I was just comfortable and happy.

'I never used to cook before. I would buy in or go out for food with my friends and boyfriend.


'It would always be meals to go, sandwiches and crisps. Sometimes I would miss meals and have loads of snacks instead.'


Now done with her unhealthy lifestyle, Emily is all for healthy home eating and snacks.

She said: 'Since joining Slimming World I cook all of my own meals now like spaghetti bolognese, chicken pie and shepherd's pie but my favourites are the curries because I'm really into Indian food and that's what I used to binge on.


'My life has changed definitely with the running and being more active.

'Before I wouldn't even go for a walk but now I go out walking on the weekends - the dog is loving it.


'I never would have thought I could do a Parkrun. I have reached a 10k but hopefully I can do that in a race soon.

'Since I've lost the weight everybody can't get over it. They all say they see a difference in me and that my confidence has come a long way.


'I lost the last three stone during lockdown as I seemed to get more motivated. I just saw it as a chance to make a real go of it when it came to exercising, eating and being active.'
