41 Y.o. Looks 21: Mother-Daughter Duo Mistaken For Sisters

No one has quite found the elixir of youth but this 41-year-old mom claims she has. She says that she is constantly mistaken for her daughter who is just 21 years old.

In fact, people also often mistake her daughter Ariana to be her sister rather than her daughter. Ariana’s male friends apparently cannot help flirting with the mom because she looks like their peers.

Jennifer says, "We have always been mistaken for sisters.”

"When I was younger, this bothered me because I wanted people to know I was her mum.”

"I joked with people telling them I wanted an 'I’m the Mum' button to wear."

The first time Ariana was mistaken for her sister was when she was just 3.

"I was checking out at a store and Ariana called me 'Mum'. The cashier looked visibly stunned and said, 'Wow. I thought you were her sister or the babysitter’. I’ve never forgotten that conversation because it bothered me so much. I cried when I got in the car."

Jennifer was so bothered by the interaction, that she started wearing her grandmother’s clothes to look older.

She says that by her 30s she knew how to handle it but is overjoyed to be mistaken as a younger woman now that she is in her 40s.

She says that her daughter has never been bothered by these assumptions and that her friends had made a special song about Jennifer along the same lines as the infamous ‘Stacy’s Mom’.
