Halloween is the perfect time for people to act like complete fools or worse, like racists. Case in point: A family in Florida is showing their support for Donald Trump by hanging two dummies by the neck in front of their house.

There needs to be a hell of a lot of hate in your heart to think lynching people on Halloween is funny. And yet, here we are, Miami. A homeowner in Three Lakes, a small community in suburban Kendall, is celebrating the holiday by lynching two black-looking dummies in his or her yard. It's also impossible to ignore what's just in front of the display on the same lawn: A "Trump/Pence 2016" sign.

The Miami New Times has confirmed that it's a real display, not a Halloween hoax.

Orelys Canas, the community property manager, confirmed the authenticity of the display to The Miami New Times. Canas also said neighbors are complaining about the "Halloween decorations."

"The association takes it seriously, and everybody is concerned," Canas said. "We can only reach out and wait to see if the homeowner responds."

It's easy to see why people are concerned: The dummies are dressed in stereotypical hip-hop attire, including reversed jeans, a Marlins sports jersey, and a crooked baseball cap. A sign that reads "Please Don't Be Ignorant, it's Halloween" is now sitting beside the hanged dummies since news of the controversy spread.

This kind of "prank" completely falls in line with what we've been hearing from Trump since the beginning of his presidential campaign. He tells his supporters that it's perfectly OK to fear "the other" and they have to make America great again at all costs.

"We're going to rebuild our inner cities because our African-American communities are absolutely in the worst shape that they've ever been in before. Ever, ever, ever," he said during a rally on September 26.

Trump implied that Black Americans have it worse today than their ancestors did during slavery.

President Obama responded to Trump's comment during an interview on "Good Morning America."

"I think even most 8-year-olds [will] tell you that whole slavery thing wasn't very good for Black people," he said. "Jim Crow wasn't very good for black people. What we have to do is use our history to propel us to make even more progress in the future."

However, Trump's words resonate with racists, like former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke.

"It's time to stand up and vote for Donald Trump for president and vote for me," Duke, a white nationalist, said during a robocall, according to BuzzFeed News.

Back to the "prank" display controversy. It has reminded many of a time when lynching and hanging blacks was looked upon as acceptable. (the following picture may be hard for some to look at)

One person tried to suggest that a Hillary Clinton supporter planted the hanging figures, but this has been debunked.

Black activists have been circulating the photos on Facebook all day and calling for a quick response from the neighborhood.

The community's property manager, Orelys Canas, tells New Times they've contacted the homeowner and asked him or her to remove the installation."

The homeowners argument is fairly flimsy to even the most untrained eye, "I'm pretending to hang black people so they know it's not a big deal!" Even after being asked to take it down they have refused; I guess it all goes to show that they know it's racist and simply don't care. That's one of the biggest problems this election has brought with it it's now alright to be a racist. What a shame this year is turning out to be.
