Adult Film Star August Ames Dies At The Young Age Of 23

August Ames, an adult film star from Nova Scotia in Canada, previously known as Mercedes Grabowski, died at the age of 23 in a suspected suicide. As according to the police there is no indication of foul play. Also, the cause of her death has been reported asphyxiation due to hanging.

Ames started working in the adult industry in 2014 and won Cutest Newcomer Award 2015, Vixen Angel AVN Award 2016 and has stared in more than 270 X-rated movies. The late actor was married to adult film director Kevin Moore. Ames was also a nominee for this year's female performer of the year, for the 2018 Adult Video News Awards in January.

Moore confirmed the death of his wife, expressed his sadness and requested for privacy. He said, "She was the kindest person I ever knew and she meant the world to me. Please leave this as a private family matter in this difficult time."

Before her death, Ames faced severe backlash on social media, when she refused to work with an actor who had performed in gay porn. The adult star wrote, on her social media account, "NOT homophobic. Most girls don’t shoot with guys who have shot gay porn, for safety. That’s just how it is with me. I’m not putting my body at risk, I don’t know what they do in their private lives." Ames was branded "Homophobic" and was heavily criticised for her Tweet.

Later in her defence, the 23-year old star wrote that she loved gay community and none of her intentions were malicious. It seems like Ames was depressed because of the bullying as shortly after the drama on social media, she messaged her fellow actor friend, Keisha Grey, saying, "Hey I hope you’re doing well. I’ve been depressed and it seems like ppl are being d***ks and I just wanted to let you know that you can talk to me if you ever want to."

Ames brother James blamed online bullies for his sister's death. He said, "I want my sister’s death to be recognised as a serious issue – bullying is not ok. It cost me my baby sister’s life."

Fellow adult entertainers took to social media to express their sadness over her death. Producer and Director, Jules Jordan wrote, "Rest In Peace to August Ames, one of the best, nicest people I ever knew in the business." Abella Danger wrote, "I can honestly say I loved her so much. She was the most genuinely kind-hearted girl I had the pleasure of becoming friends with."

It is also reported that Ames left a suicide note.
