#1: Fairy Tale. Someone drew this little guy as a welcome back present. That was thoughtful for them, and awesome for the internet forever.

#2: Film Noir. The artist achieved this look with only a black marker. And that’s pretty amazing, considering how lovely this piece turned out.

#3: Jungle Scene. The artist used a much more stylized method to create this intricate piece. The precision in the thickness of the lines is what makes this piece so perfect.

#4: Starry Night. The artist here copied on a white board with markers what the brilliant Van Gogh created with oil paints on canvas. It’s not a bad representation at all, especially considering the medium.

#5: Iron Man 2. Fans of the Iron Man series show up everywhere—including in white board art! The interesting thing about this piece is that the artist likely drew it for the entertainment of his or her friends and not to be featured or famous.

#6: The Pin-Up. The truly amazing part of this is how they managed to get the faded look in the background. And where did they find all those colors in dry erase markers?

#7: Red dragon, It might be only a sketch, but this red dragon is still pretty amazing. The way the frills around the dragon’s head are drawn are really more sketched in than lined out and marked in.

#8: The Great Wave Off Kanagawa. This one is another that is a copy of a famous art piece, but WOW. The details on this are amazing. The artist had to use a very small marker to get this kind of precision.

#9: The Joker. This piece of art was taken from The Dark Knight Rises. It’s an iconic image of The Joker sitting in a jail cell, seemingly helpless but still able to cause dread to those around him—and the viewers of both the movie and this piece of white board art.

#10: Godzilla vs. King Kong. This piece is an homage to all the Godzilla movies—and they went on ad infinitum. Anyone who enjoys a good B movie—or who grew up in the ‘80s—should feel a little bit of nostalgia after viewing this piece.

#11: Fishing Village. Not only is this piece charming and creative, but the artist packed a lot of composition into a tiny work. If you’ll notice, this piece is drawn on the very corner of a much larger white board.

#12: Profile and Shadow. This piece is both startlingly realistic and hauntingly beautiful. This girl looks lost and a little defiant. And it was all created with a black marker.

#13: Yoda. For our nerdy readers, this green alien from the Star Wars universe is very familiar. He has been captured here with an admonition to recycle in his much-emulated “Yoda Speak.”

#14: James Bond. This piece is so realistic it could be a movie poster! The background words are exactly precise, both in line shape and in proportion to one another. And just look at the detailed shading on Daniel Craig’s face!

#15: The Scream. The original of this piece was done in colors that managed to be vibrant and depressing at the same time—reds, hazy oranges, and browns. This black and white dry erase board version highlights the composition of the original piece—and the skill of the artist who reproduced this.
