Kristina Sexton, Amber Heard's acting coach from 2011 to 2017, shared in a pre-taped testimony that the Aquaman star had a difficult time crying during her acting and that she could tell whether she was genuinely crying or not.
Amber Heard's Acting Coach Says She Could Tell Her Crying Was Genuine
The Aquaman actress Amber Heard found it difficult to bring tears in her eyes. According to Heard's acting coach from 2011 to 2017, she could tell when the actress was actually crying and she was acting. She told the court that the actress could not produce tears easily on set.
In Virginia's courtroom, pre-taped testimony was played in front of the jurors and Amber Heard's acting coach, Kristina Sexton was a crucial part of it. She said she had become used to seeing Heard cry during their acting lessons due to the violent altercations that occurred between her and her former husband, Johnny Depp.
Sexton further told that as the "fighting got heavier," Heard would "have to build in time because she'd be sobbing at the beginning of sessions, and we couldn't work until we got her together."
Talking about Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, the acting coach told that the two were "incredibly lovey-dovey and passionate" when they first started dating and that they were "always together in a positive way."
As the time progressed, Sexton said, the actors were seen together less and less and she could overhear them getting into aggressive arguments while she was in their home for Heard's acting lessons.
"It went from being like a normal couple to very tension-filled, especially those last few months that they were together," Sexton said.
The coach revealed that Amber Heard was rarely late for the lessons in her home studio, however, as the time passed, she would ask for extra time to attend the planned lesson meetups. Sexton shared that it was the heated discussions between Heard and Depp that would cause her to get late to the lessons and end up in tears.
"I would say that last year they were together, probably 80 to 90% of our sessions began with her crying," Sexton said.
Sexton claimed that she believed in Amber Heard's case for she had seen the actor crying in real life and "ironically, she has a little difficulty crying acting-wise."
Heard's acting coach also shared that she would "often try to calm Heard down when she was feeling overwhelmed".
While testifying during the ongoing trial, Heard has cried several times when talking about the events of assault from her past.
"I have a caretaker personality, so I would prioritize taking care of the person in front of me over doing work, which is why I ended up building in all that extra time," Sexton added.
