So you need to make some Halloween treats for your kids' school or your own debaucherous party. The problem? You have no idea where to start. Don't give in and buy grocery store cakes and Doritos. With a small (very small!) amount of effort, you can create treats that'll have everybody talking.
Awesome Tricks For Making Treats This Halloween.
1. "Rotten" deviled eggs
Deviled eggs are a great party food, and you can Halloween-ify (not to mention gross-ify) yours with a little bit of food coloring and some artistic flair.
Ingredients
6 eggs, hard boiled & sliced in half
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 scant tablespoon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
a splash of hot sauce (Frank's Red Hot is my favorite)
Green gel food dye
salt & pepper, to taste
Paprika and chia seeds to garnish
Instructions
Boil eggs
Place your cooked egg yolks in a small bowl & mash them up with a fork. Stir in the mayo, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, food dye, salt, & pepper.
Scoop the filling into the egg whites. Sprinkle with paprika and/or chia seeds.
2. Halloween spaghetti
If you're looking for a creepy main course, try this. Just use some food coloring to dye the spaghetti, then let your creativity take over. The olive eyes are a nice touch, but totally optional.

1/2 tsp Black Food Paste Colorant or any other color of your choice.
{ You can find this type of food coloring at Wal-Mart, and your local craft stores in the baking aisle}
1 16 oz Box of Spaghetti
4 Quarts of water
1 tsp. Salt
HOW TO MAKE HALLOWEEN SPAGHETTI
In a large pot put 4 quarts of water, 1/2 tsp. food coloring and 1 tsp. salt for each pound of dry spaghetti.
Bring the water to a boil.
Add spaghetti and return to boil.
Cook uncovered approximately 10-12 minutes, or until tender, stirring occasionally. Avoid overcooking.
Remove from heat and drain.
COOKING TIP
Don’t leave the spaghetti in the water. Drain right away. Add a bit of olive oil to the cooked pasta.
This will make the pasta not to stick.
The pasta won’t stain your mouth and it will taste like regular pasta.
Top the pasta with our favorite Spaghetti Sauce and olives.
Kids love this stuff!
3. Mummy applesauce snacks
Here's a quick way to dress up a packaged snack. Just take single-serve applesauce (or pudding, or whatever), wrap them up in crepe paper and add googly eyes.
4. Pepperoni Pinhead
It might take a bit of effort, but c'mon, look at the final result! The toothpicks do double duty as Pinhead's pins and as serving utensils. Clever!
5. Spooky fruit kebabs
Not all sweet treats need to be unhealthy. These fruit (and marshmallow) kebabs are a great way to give people a serving of fruit in a fun, spooky package. Just use a non-toxic marker to make the faces.
6. Watermelon Shark
Watermelon is a party favorite, and you can make yours stand out with some creative cutting. The white rind of the melon is awesome for picture-perfect jagged shark teeth.
7. Halloween hot chocolate
If your party's on a chilly night, here's a dead-simple hack. Make up a carafe of hot chocolate, then use a non-toxic marker to ghost-ify your marshmallows. Easy and quick!
8. Ghostly cheese strings
Magic markers to the rescue again! Just a couple of black dots turn these cheese strings into howling ghosts. Just make sure to use mozzarella cheese to get that ghostly color.
9. Halloween veggie tray
Here's a fun one to make with your kids: Think of how to make a freaky Halloween ghoul out of veggie sticks and greens and then assemble it on a cutting board.
10. Zombie brain cupcakes

12. Caramel apple bar
A muffin tin creates a perfect buffet-style toppings bar for your little ones to dip their caramel apple slices into. Just make sure you've got napkins as this one is bound to get sticky.
13. Tortilla bones
Your party is going to need tortilla chips, that's a given. But if you want to go the extra mile, you can make your own (super easy!) and cut them into spooky shapes.
How to Make It
Step 1
Cut tortillas with a 3 1/2-inch bone-shaped cutter, and place on baking sheets. Stir together butter and garlic salt; brush mixture on tortillas.
Step 2
Bake at 250° for 30 minutes or until crisp.
Step 3
NOTE: Flour tortillas may be cut into bone shapes using kitchen shears.
14. Inside-out caramel apples

16. Chips and guac, Halloween style
Here's a creative indoor use for your Jack-o'-Lantern: scoop it out, cut a big gaping mouth and arrange guac (or any other dip!) to make it look like it's spewing out.
