Bartender Who Treats Her Dogs Like Her Kids Allows Them To Pick Her Potential Romantic Partners

For Meghan Hill, it is her cocker spaniels who have the final say in choosing her relationship and if they like her date then all is well but if not then there is no point in continuing. Meghan shares that her online dating bio says that she only wants to meet animal lovers and she has uploaded enough pictures of herself with her dogs to make the point come through.

Meghan Hill, 24 is a bartender who relies on her adorable cocker 'spaniels' to decide on her relationships. Hill says that her dogs' opinion helped her in getting a promising relationship that is well into its fifth week and all is good so far. 

The pint-puller said: “It’s still early days, but last week, I let him meet the dogs for the first time.

“It was a make-or-break test for me – whether the dogs would like him. Luckily they loved him.”

Hill shares that she was only 12 when she got Ben and then in the year 2013 she got another pup, Ash.

She was in a nine-month relationship back in 2019 and when she got into online dating and made it clear that the guy won't stand a chance if they were not animal lovers.

Meghan, of Rotherham, South Yorks, added: “I always make sure Ben and Ash are in my photos and on my profile, and bring them up within the first few messages.

“I also scroll through every picture of my potential date, looking for any sign that he’s an animal lover.

“People who don’t have dogs don’t understand what it’s like. They’re like my children.

“The pair of them sleep right by my bed at night, and I’m never without them. They’re even trained to take my socks off.

“Anyone coming into my life will come second to them because they’re my main priority, and I wouldn’t change that for anything or anyone.”

In fact, according to the Animal expert Melanie Smith from health-focused pet food firm Webbox Naturals, it’s common for pet owners to worry about their animals and partners getting along.

She added: “The key to an instant ‘click’ is to make sure your dog feels safe during the initial meeting.”
