Experts believe this is a contrived condition and is actually something else since it is so confined to one locale and virtually unheard of.

#2 Gaping Eye Socket

This man had sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma (SNUC), a rare form of cancer affecting the nasal cavity that had only a 10 percent survival rate. In his case, the cancer had spread so extensively that doctors had to remove half his face, including his right eye, the muscles, and nerves. That left him with a large opening where his eye would normally be. As the skin healed, it formed over his scar and left him with a hole big enough to put his fingers through without any pain.

#8 Eyeball Tattoos

A new trend in extreme body modification is sweeping the globe. People everywhere are getting eyeball tattoos. The process is quite painful, and the results range from mildly spooky to downright demonic. Despite medical professionals warning that this procedure can cause blindness and cancer, it has become a popular fad among teens in recent years. Though the (still experimental) practice of injecting pigment into the whites of people's eyes has been around for nearly a decade, it's still considered one of the last frontiers of tattooing. However, there have already been over three dozen cases where people have lost vision because of the dye and one case where a girl had to have her eyeball removed because of a dirty syringe.

#9 Implanted Eyetooth

Martin Jones, an Englishman, lost his power of vision and remained blind for almost a decade. However, he has now regained his sight. This has been accomplished by implanting a piece of tooth in his eye. The tooth that was implanted was a canine tooth which is also known as the "eyetooth" and it was pulled out of Martin Jones' own mouth. They then placed a man-made eye lens into its base and placed it under the lid of his eye, allowing the tissue to grow over the canine. Also, a flap of his skin was taken from his mouth and implanted over the tooth in his eye which later had access to its own supply of blood. The doctors then cut a hole in the cornea that permitted light to enter the eye. This procedure has given six hundred people the power of vision.

#10 Hairy Eyeball

In very rare cases, a hairy mass of tissue can begin growing one of the eyes. It is never found in both eyes, usually only one, and it is not painful. However, it causes extreme discomfort when the hair grows and can cause scratching, itching. and irritation to the lid or eyeball. It is easily removed by pulling with tweezers, but there is no treatment for it and it grows back. Once the hair is removed from the tissue, it normally goes away for about 3 weeks until the hair begins to sprout once more.
