Yazmina Jade is a self-proclaimed blood witch and spiritual healer who’s dedicated to reclaiming the Feminine through embodiment and sisterhood.
Blood Witch Smears Her Period Blood On Her Face To Tackle The Stigma Surrounding Menstruation
Former hairdresser Yazmina Jade, 26, collected blood from her period and painted it on her skin as a "sacred ritual to reconnect with my body".
Now, the feminine healer, based on the Gold Coast, has released footage of her ceremony in a quest to prove the menstrual cycle is nothing to be ashamed of.
Taking to Facebook to share her sacred ritual
. . . Yazmina Jade posted photographs of her face covered in blood and a detailed explanation of how this monthly process has changed her life for the better.
And she's hit back at haters accusing her of being "sick" and "mental" on social media.
She claims never felt better than after her defiant menstrual show.
Yazmina said:
"This was a sacred ritual to reconnect with my body. As women, we're deeply disconnected with our bodies because of societal shame.
"I decided to place the blood all over my face, and taste it to reclaim that part of myself. I could truly embody all that I was.
She hopes sharing her experiences will take down the shame and silence around menstruation.
Yazmina believes menstrual cycles are mired in shame and confusion in the modern day and are still widely considered to be secret 'women's business'.
By thrusting her facial into the public eye, she wants women to know they don't have to manage their periods privately and discretely.
Yazmina said her spiritual awakening came about after she became a "nervous wreck" while running her own hairdressing business in Melbourne.
While most people can agree that there should be no stigma surrounding periods.
We doubt that many will be inspired to use their menstrual blood in their gardens after reading Jade’s post – even if it has drawn attention to an important subject.
