The body of a missing grandmother has been found inside a gigantic 22-foot python.

According to Sky News, police in Indonesia confirmed that the body of the 54-year-old woman named Jahrah was found after she was reported missing on Sunday.

The woman's husband reported his wife's missing to the emergency services after she went missing on Sunday. He became concerned after he found her sandals, knife, and a headscarf too.

Indonesian news site Detik stated that Jambi Police Chief AKP S Harefa later confirmed that the locals of the area conducted a search of the area and once they found a huge snake, they had doubt that it was responsible for Jahrah's missing. The search team then caught the heavily bloated beast.

Jahrah's body was found inside the stomach of a 22-foot-long python.

Police report the woman became the victim of the huge beast when she was on her way to work at a rubber plantation - however, it has not been confirmed whether or not the woman was alive when she was eaten.

Police also confirmed that "the victim's body was also not destroyed" upon its discovery in the reptile's stomach.

Speaking to The Washington Post about the concerning incident, snake conservationist and director of the Indonesia Herpetofauna Foundation Nathan Rusli believes a reticulated python was likely responsible for the woman's death.

Known to be the only reptile living in the Sumatran province of Jambi that is big enough to devour a grown adult human, Rusli states: "They are constrictors, so what they do is coil their body around you. They will give you a hug of death. You breathe in and your body gets smaller, it tightens its grip, and you can’t breathe out."

"The top and bottom jaw of a snake is connected by ligaments, it’s quite flexible. They can swallow prey larger than the size of their head," Rusli added.

This is tragically not the first time that a terrible incident like this has happened.

According to Sky News, another woman became a victim of such a terrible death back in 2018 when she was devoured by a 23-foot python. It is believed that the incident happened when the woman was gardening and she was attacked by the animal.
