#1 Canadian Business Tycoon Murdered In His Home With Wife

A Jewish Canadian couple were found dead at their home in Toronto, Canada on 15 December. The initial reports suggested that it was a murder-suicide. The 70-year chairman of Apotex Barry Sherman and his wife Honey Sherman were found with leather belts wrapped around their necks, hanging from the railing beside their indoor pool, in their $5.4 million home, which the couple were reportedly trying to sell before their unfortunate death.

Apotex is the Canadian Pharmaceutical Corporation and is considered to be the largest maker of generic drugs in Canada. The Shermans fortune is estimated to be more than $3 billion.

#2 Dismissed The Idea Of Murder-Suicide

The couple's four children said the murder-suicide made no sense and blasted the media for devising such 'irresponsible theories' and hired a criminal lawyer Brian Greenspan for help. Greenspan hired private investigators for further investigation. Shortly before the funeral of the couple, the private investigators and pathologist carried out the second autopsy and founds marks on victims wrists, indicating the couple had been tied at one point.

The previous media reports claimed that the couples death was a case of murder-suicide as it suggested that Barry Sherman first killed his wife and then killed himself.

#3 Death Staged

The team also concluded the couple were killed two days before their bodies were discovered as Honey Sherman was wearing the same clothes she had been last seen in. Sources claim the couple were murdered through contract killing and their death was staged as a murder-suicide.

#4 Police Investigating The Case Now From New Point Of View

Reports show that there are no signs of forced entry, also no evidence points out the home invasion. The police and the detectives have also checked surveillance videos from nearby homes but so far they are not able to gather any clue.

#5 Children Plan To Demolish The House After The Investigation Is Completed

The couples four children plans to demolish the house once private investigation officers are done with their work. In a statement released by the family, it stated, "Our parents shared an enthusiasm for life and commitment to their family and community totally inconsistent with the rumors regrettably circulated in the media as to the circumstances surrounding their deaths. We are shocked and think it’s irresponsible that police sources have reportedly advised the media of a theory which neither their family, their friends nor their colleagues believe to be true."

Close friends and associates of the family claim that it's impossible to believe that it was a case of homicide, as the couple had just welcomed a new grandchild and appeared to be enjoying every aspect of their lives.

A close friend of the couple, Canadian Senator Linda Frum said, "There is absolutely zero debate in my mind, this was a double homicide. The idea that Barry would ever harm Honey. He adored her. That’s impossible. He was a gentle, good man."

Today, Apotex employs over 11,000 people and sells 300 generic drugs in 120 countries. Barry Sherman was also a generous philanthropist who donated millions for humanitarian purposes.

Barry Sherman was also an active fundraiser of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's liberal party.
