Machu Picchu

Smack in the middle of a tropical mountain forest, 2430 meters above sea level is a gorgeous Inca Empire. The view is so amazing that it almost looks as if it was created by Mother Nature herself. It is located on the eastern slopes of the Andes mountains and takes up the upper Amazon basin which is filled with a massive variety of fauna and flora. Visiting a place like this would be one of those once in a lifetime opportunities that you would be crazy to miss if you are able to afford the trip.

The Great Blue Hole, Belize

The Great Blue Hole is a massive sinkhole off of the coast of Belize right in the middle of the Lighthouse Reef. It is a scuba diver's dream destination. The water is crystal clear and has some of the most amazing marine life and coral. Some of the most notorious sea animals you can find here include the Caribbean reef shark, nurse sharks, giant groupers, and the Blacktip shark. The hole itself is more than 300 meters across and 125 meters deep. It is the largest aquatic sinkhole in the world. It is definitely on my bucket list.

Porto Heli, Greece

Porto Heli has a real cosmopolitan atmosphere about it. It is a small town on the eastern side of the Peloponnese with a large port. There are a bunch of beaches which are mostly secluded coves that have the most amazing relaxing atmosphere. Not only can you enjoy these beautiful white sand beaches, but you can also enjoy the sight of the mega yachts and fishing trolleys that come in and out of the port. It definitely looks like a place I would not mind going to so I could enjoy some peace and quiet away from the city life.

Cappadocia, Turkey

Cappadocia looks like a city built by gnomes or fairies. It has areas of soft volcanic rocks that have been shaped by erosion that make up the fairy-like towers and cones along with many valleys and caves. You can find rock-cut churches and underground tunnel systems all over the countryside. This area is also one of the best spots for air balloon flights because of its landscape and temperate weather conditions. I cannot even imagine how gorgeous the sight from a hot air balloon would be.

The Cook Islands travel website describes the area that is made up of 15 islands located in Polynesia as having untouched charm and beauty since it is still not a known area by most North Americans. They compare the Cook Islands as being just like Hawaii was more than 50 years ago except they have all of the modern conveniences. It is definitely a place I would love to visit.

Isle of Skye, Scotland

If you are truly inspired by nature and love hiking, this is a spot to add to your must-visit list. The area's website says that this is one of the most visited locations by tourists who come to Scotland. It is widely known for its stunning scenery and breathtaking landscapes. This area is also a great destination for climbers, not just walkers. There are several areas that offer challenging climbs and scrambles. Just by looking at photos from the area, it is easy to see why it is such a famous spot to visit. It truly is breathtaking.

Cano Cristales, Colombia

Cano Cristales is a Columbian river known as the "River of Five Colors" or the "Liquid Rainbow." It is the most beautiful river in the world because of its stunning colors. Areas are colored in yellow, black, blue, and several shades of red. The colors come from a red plant called the Macarenia clavigera that grows in the riverbed. The other spectacular colors come from green algae, blue water, yellow sand, and black rocks. Adding to its beauty, there are also waterfalls, caverns, and pools that can be explored. This is another to add to your bucket list.

Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Japan

Located on the western edge of Kyoto is this beautiful bamboo forest. It is every photographer's dream to visit and capture its beauty. There are plenty of shops and places to eat nearby as well as other attractions, but the bamboo groves are the key attraction here. So, next time you need some photographic inspiration, you might want to think about visiting here.
