Children's Toys That Are Just Wrong And Should Never Have Been On The Market

#1 Bebe Gloton

While I do not see anything wrong with teaching your child, at the right time and place, the importance of breastfeeding, this doll just takes it a bit too far. Not only does the baby make little sounds like a breastfeeding baby, it also comes with a nipple vest! Needless to say, this doll did not make the best impression on consumers and is now only sold in Spain.

#2 Slumber Party Barbie

Now, we all know the Barbie brand is a huge success, but it does not mean that everything they put out is going to be the same. While there was nothing really wrong with the doll itself, the accessories were a whole other story. Released back in 1965, this doll came equipped with a book titled, "How to Lose Weight" and a scale showing she weighs just a mere 110 pounds. The back of the book has the words, "Don't Eat!" At what point does any woman, who is 5'9" and 110 pounds need to lose weight? She is already underweight. Way to encourage eating disorders in our young girls!

#3 Lawn Darts

Regular adult darts are dangerous enough. What brilliant mind thought it would be ok to make humongous sharp darts for our kids to play with?

In 1988, these darts were discontinued due to thousands of reported injuries that included four deaths at the hands of misused lawn darts.

#4 Aqua Dots

Released back in 2007, these only stayed on shelves for about six months. They seemed to be fun and all, but the bead stuck together when mixed with water, and they were too tempting for small kids to put them in their mouths. Not only was it a safety issue for kids putting tiny objects in their mouths and other orifices, they also had a chemical coating that ended up putting two children into temporary comas. Swallowed beads also caused violent vomiting, seizures, and varying breathing issues.

#5 Buckyballs

Honestly, I was shocked to find this. What sound adult thought this would be a great idea? They are essentially magnetic BB's and meant to be an adult desk toy, but that does not mean kids will not be tempted to play with them and put them in their mouths causing a slew of damage to their internal organs.

#6 “Crazy For You” Teddy

While some of us may find this to be a funny, and adorable way to show your partner that you love them, others might find these to be very insensitive to those with mental health issues. Production did not last very long.

#7 Preemie Cabbage Patch Dolls

Cabbage Patch Kids have been a HUGELY popular brand since their emergence in the early 1980s, but this line was just insensitive. Delivering a premature baby, in real life, is a harrowing experience for most parents. It is both scary and uncertain, and creating a doll in that image is just wrong. The kids playing with a doll like this would really not have known the difference since so many dolls come in varying shapes and sizes. They would have been better off just calling them "New Borns" instead of "Preemies." They may have lasted longer.

#8 Fisher-Price Porsche Power Wheels

These cars were all the rage back in the day. They are still popular today, but as a kid or even as an adult, admit it, you wanted one!

These cars were not all dangerous. They came with seat belts and could only go so fast. The issue was with this particular model that was voluntarily recalled back in 1991 due to a battery issue that would not allow the car to stop.

#9 Power Wheels cont.

The issue was fixed and the newer versions are available at stores even now. They do beg the question, who thought giving toddlers their own tiny cars to drive around in would end well? There have been plenty of little car accidents reported but not enough to pull them entirely from the market.

#10 Fisher-Price Power Wheels Harley Davidson

The only thing worse than giving your child a tiny car, it is giving them a tiny motorcycle. Just like the rest of the Power Wheel cars, the Harley Davidson model was super popular when it was first released. But, it did not take too long for all of the issues to start rolling in. The "gas" pedal would get stuck making it so the kids were unable to stop the bike which also led to accidents and injuries. The affected models were recalled and kids to replace the defective foot pedals were sent out promptly.

#11 Hoverboards

The hoverboard is something that we have fantasized about ever since Marty McFly rode one in Back to the Future. If you got a chance to ride one, your dream was likely instantly squashed. Not only are they hard to get the hang of using causing fall injuries and ran over broken toes, many of them have been the cause of some major house fires due to overheating batteries.

#12 Metal Playgrounds

Whoever decided making playgrounds out of heat conductive aluminum was a real genius. How many of you remember tearing the skin off the back of your thighs by sliding down a too hot slide?

#13 Slap Bracelets

I am sure the creators of these fun little bracelets did not keep in mind that kids can be real jerks when they designed these. They are meant to be used with a gentle slap on the wrist, but kids were tormenting their friends by slapping them hard. Most of these bands were banned from schools due to that reason alone. You also had to take into account what these are made from when you have the kind of kids like I was, that takes things apart to see how they are made. I found many of the cheapest ones were made with the same material as the big silver measuring tapes are made of... thin metal that can slice your finger right off. Scary, right?

#14 Slingshots

While slingshots serve a practical purpose, who in their right mind thought they would be a great toy for kids.

#15 Ker-Bangers

Ker-Bangers, or as we called them, Clackers were super popular during the 60s and continued to stay popular through most of the 80s. I remember my grandpa hanging his at the top of the shed door opening. I can also remember how many times I nailed myself in the finger and face trying to use these.

#16 The Inflatable Baby Boat

A pool toy that would allow your little ones to sit safely in the water would obviously become a huge hit. Sadly, the material used to make the seat portion of the float was prone to getting tears and made it really easy for a baby to slip right into the water. They were eventually recalled in 2009 when it was determined that the company knew about this defect for years and did nothing about it.

#17 Milky the Marvelous Milking Cow.

I don't think I really need to say why this was such a bad idea.

#18 The Daddle

We have all hopped on our dad's or another adult member of our family's back for a horsey ride, but this just looks awkward and unsafe.
