Charlette and Dan Fontaine officially adopted their 12-year-old daughter Bianca after fostering her for four years. To celebrate this big news, they came up with a fun idea while also showing everyone how gender reveals are actually done. "We had to take adoption classes, and what really stuck with me in the adoption class was that sometimes kids over the age of 2 are classified as 'unadoptable' because nobody really wants a child that’s not a baby. And that statement there has stuck with me and it broke my heart."
Couple Reveals Gender Of Their 12-Year-Old Adopted Daughter In A Viral TikTok Video
Recently, many 'gender reveals' had gone wrong and resulted in tragic events
Gender reveals are under the spotlight ever since one in September last year that caused a massive wildfire killing a firefighter and destroying hundreds of houses and land. Not only that but last month, a 28-year-old man died, unfortunately, while working on a device for his baby's gender reveal party.
This whole 'gender reveal' concept is not so appreciated by many people who think one can only know the sex of their child, not the gender they will choose for themselves when they grow old.
But recently one couple's gender reveal party went viral on TikTok for all the right reasons and we can't stop smiling.
This couple, Charlette and Dan Fontaine are living in Manitoba, Canada. The couple started fostering Bianca when she was only 8. Now after four years of successful fostering, the couple just officially adopted their 12-year-old daughter Bianca and to celebrate this big news they came up with an amazing idea.
The video uploaded on their Tiktok shows Charlette and her husband holding a balloon.
Then Charlette asks;
"I wonder what it is?"
Then comes Bianca into the frame and happily pops the balloon that's filled with pink confetti, and screams;
"It's a 12-year-old girl!"
She became part of this wonderful family when she was 8-years-old.
"When we first started this [adoption process], I thought I wanted a baby," Charlette told BuzzFeed. "We had to take adoption classes, and what really stuck with me in the adoption class was that sometimes kids over the age of 2 are classified as 'unadoptable' because nobody really wants a child that’s not a baby. And that statement there has stuck with me and it broke my heart."
Four years back in 2017, they visited Niagara Falls where they threw the Canadian dollar coin or loonie into the falls and prayed with all their hearts;
"If there's a kid that needs us, we'll get a call."
On the same day, they received a call about fostering 8-year-old Bianca.
Since the mom is a huge fan of Harry Potter, she came u with these amazing T-shirts for all three of them.
"That’s why she’s our 'chosen one."
"Because we threw the loonie and we were chosen."
This beautiful family has been praised by people all over the world
The happy mother Charlette said;
"I’m just so overwhelmed with all the positive support that there’s been, all the comments,"
"It’s absolutely beautiful."
