A couple with more than 35 years between them are planning on having a baby via surrogate. In the latest update to the couple's journey, Quran and Cheryl have said they're willing to splash out $144,453 on a surrogate so they can welcome a baby by 2023. The pair tried to get pregnant on their own but due to Cheryl's age, they decided to turn to surrogacy or adoption.

Well-known TikTok faces Quran McCain, 24, and Cheryl McGregor, 61, tied the knot on 3 September, 2021. Their intimate wedding was actually live-streamed on the app and viewed by thousands of their fans. Now, they are ready to expand their family.

'We got married in September 2021, and it’s been a few months since we are ready to start a family,' said Quran.

Quran McCain and his wife, mother-of-seven Cheryl McGregor, from Rome, Georgia, first met in 2012 while they were both worked in the fast food chain Dairy Queen, when he was just 15 years old. But romantic feelings didn't blossom until much later. They lost contact but reconnected in 2020 when caretaker Quran saw Cheryl working as a cashier at a convenience store.

Cheryl has seven children and 17 grandchildren already, but the couple said they 'feel they deserve children of their own.'

'We prefer surrogacy, however, we have seen a lot of people embroiled in legal complications far after the child is born,'

"Surrogates cost anywhere between £6,000-£120,000; we are lucky we have found the surrogate we have chosen.

"The baby will arrive late spring 2023."

The soon-to-be father reflected:

"I am extremely excited, this is something I always wanted, to have a family with the love of my life. Both of Cheryl’s daughters had hysterectomies in the last few years otherwise they would have been the best option for being as close to a biological child as possible."

Cheryl added:

"Another baby would be amazing for me and my family on this new journey. I have already planned on shopping for the baby and I’m hoping that we can throw a baby shower."

Since Cheryl is much older than Quran, they know he may have to raise their child alone somewhere down the line and are prepared for that.

'We understand that I may not be there for as long as Quran is but I have faith in him,'

'If I am not here he can do it. He's gonna be a great father, he’s a responsible adult. I had every bit of faith that he could raise our child and do it very well.

'Our family is also very supportive of our decision to have children, at first they were hesitant for the same reasons.

The pair also set up an Only Fans account for their saucier content. Cheryl and Quran get a lot of hate on social media due to their unconventional relationship - but that doesn't phase them. Quran said:

'People on social media have a lot of hate for us, they say I’m dating my grandmother,'

'I am not, she is younger than my grandmother, we are no different from any other couple, love is love.

'We get a lot of hate but it doesn't phase us. At the end of the day, we still got each other and that's all that matters.

"We get a mixture of positive and negative feedback. The worst is that I'm using her for money. Hate all you want, we still are going to live a normal life.

"[...] At the end of day everyone's gonna judge you for something so you might as well do what you feel is right and never let someone take your peace."

The couple will welcome their baby in late spring of 2023.
