In other news, a British tourist in Mexico was shot and died near a supermarket and is claimed to have been in the "wrong place at the wrong time."
Ben Corser, a 37-year-old software engineer from Cornwall, had been vacationing in Mexico since the beginning of the year when he and two friends were killed.
When he and two friends, Claudio and Alfredo, went to pick up their groceries from a local supermarket, the 37-year-old appeared to have been caught in the crossfire.
The three men, Ben, Claudio, and Alfredo, were shot and killed while sitting in their car on Camino Real Boulevard in western Mexico. After violently attacking an 18-year-old as he walked home from a funfair, a band of teenage thugs was found guilty of murder.
Ben had been in "the wrong place at the wrong time," according to his parents, former headteacher Andrew Corser and Lorraine Downes, as well as his brother, Tom Corser.
Ben's remains will be returned to the UK for a funeral in St Just, Cornwall, according to his family, who said he had "become part of the community" in western Mexico.
