Matt MacMillan is a proud dad who has decided to put his expert photoshop skills to best use by putting his son in various hilarious photoshopped pictures. Matt's son Ryan was born 9 weeks early than his birth and the baby weighed less than 3 pounds. While the couple was not expecting their child to be born premature but they definitely didn't give up on the newborn photoshoot, just like the one they had when their daughter was born two years ago.
Matt decided a photoshoot to portray his son doing things the manly way, the point here is to prove that premature babies are not weak in any way.

Matt says each photo in the new setting took only 15-2 minutes as most of the work was for editing and photoshop. "First, I had to make props and find outfits for most of the pictures," he explained. "The next step was setting up the scene, framing the shot, arranging props, and setting up the lighting where appropriate."
Though there were some shots that proved to be harder than the other. For example, the one in the gym setting, here Ryan working on his bench-press technique is just one example of Matt have to get pretty creative.
"For this one, I made a rig that hung from the ceiling," he explained. "It mounted the camera and also held the barbell above Ryan so all he had to do was grip it rather than hold it up."

Matt explaining his photoshop skills here, "After I got the pictures of Ryan, I would take some shots of anything that he couldn’t actually hold, like the ax swinging or the fish on the fishing line. After each shoot, I would comb through these hundreds of photos and choose the best ones. I then used Photoshop to remove myself from the pictures and combine the best parts of his body into a unified composite photo."
Ryan's preemie photoshoot proved to be a hit among the public when Matt shared the pictures on his Instagram, "People seemed to love the photos – there was a lot of disappointment when the series came to an end," Matt recalled.
Each one of Ryan's carefully crafted photos scored hundreds, sometimes thousands of likes, and Matt's Instagram has now grown to over 10,000 followers.
In some pictures, the Internet voiced their concern over Ryan's safety where Matt cleared that it was all photoshop and nothing more. "Most people found them funny but there were always a few people that feared for Ryan’s safety," Matt said. "I always explained how the 'danger' all came from Photoshop and he was always being held and was never in any harm."
It's been almost a year to Matt's amazing photoshoot for his son Ryan. And for now, Matt ponders, "I’m curious to see what Ryan thinks of them 18 years from now when he’s actually grown up."
