Dave Grohl Spent 16 Hours Cooking Food For Homeless People Of Los Angeles
According to reports, Dave Grohl spent 16 hours preparing meals for Los Angeles' homeless population.
The Foo Fighters frontman cooked ribs, pork butt, brisket, cabbage, coleslaw, and beans for the homeless as part of a barbecue project he worked on with The Hope Mission this week.
While the meat was being smoked, Grohl reportedly "got some sleep here and there in the parking lot" and personally financed the entire project.
About 500 individuals were fed thanks to the barbeque event.
Grohl has previously been spotted contributing back to the community.
2020 saw the 54-year-old musician perform a solo rendition of "Everlong" for a trauma nurse called TJ Riley who was recovering from Covid-19.
Grohl surprised the nurse by making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl's band, revealed in a statement earlier this year what would happen to the group after drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away.
The trio declared that their band would continue. However, they said they will be a "different band going forward" without Hawkins.
“Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were – and without Taylor, we know that we’re going to be a different band going forward,” the statement read.
“When we see you again – and we will soon – he’ll be there in spirit with all of us every night.”
This summer, the music events Boston Calling, Sonic Temple, and Bonnaroo will all feature Foo Fighters as the headliners.
In September of last year, Queen, Alanis Morrisette, Paul McCartney, Miley Cyrus, Cars, and Rush performed at two tribute concerts for Hawkins that Foo Fighters presented in London and Los Angeles.
