Imagine getting dressed to celebrate your friend's wedding but the night ends with you scraping plates and cleaning tables. These guests were pressured into cleaning up after a wedding without warning.
Put on your best suit and head to a wedding. Make sure to pack your gloves because you might have to clean up later. Turns out the chances of that happening are low but never zero.
This Reddit user shared the story of how her husband and his friends were tricked into cleaning up after a high school friend's wedding.
Her husband had attended a large 200-person wedding that OP had been unable to attend. He was seated at a table for about 10 men.
While getting food he noticed that it was being served by the bride's mother and grandmother.
As soon as they finished eating, the groom's mother approached them and asked if they could clean up all the tables and place trash and dishes in the kitchen. The group was shocked but didn't say anything.
The entitlement did not end there. She added later that the guests needed to also scrape the dishes and load them into dishwashers.
So they rolled up their sleeves and got to cleaning and drying all the dishes before heading to the reception.
Commenters were baffled by this entire situation.
Some wondered why this request wasn't ever made beforehand and sprung on them at the very last moment.
Some added that since the dishwashing was now the gift, it would have been appropriate to take their present back.
For most, this was simply a rude way to treat your guests, and could not believe the money they had decided to skimp on.
