#1 Cinnamon Stick Ornaments

Perfect for hanging around the house or for gifts, these cinnamon stick trees are easy to make. All your child will need is some glue, cinnamon sticks, string, a few buttons, and green garland strips. You'll love the scent as well as the finished ornament!

#2 Wine Cork Reindeer

Don't throw away those wine corks! Twist together a pair of antlers from silver pipe cleaners and insert them into the top of the cork. Simply glue googly eyes and a red nose and you're done. Make all eight of Santa's reindeer or just stick with a few Rudolphs. Add a piece of ribbon to hang or just set them on the shelf.

#3 Felt Christmas Trees

Keep your toddler away from your precious glass ornaments by making them a tree of their own. There is no glue necessary, since felt naturally sticks to itself. Your child can decorate (and re-decorate) their tree as much as they want. Just cut out the tree pattern and let your child use it over and over to make as many trees as they want. Add the little circles, a star, and hooray! It's done.

#4 Favorite Toy Menorah

Let you child choose one of their favorite toys they no longer use, and make this awesome creation by attaching 9 candle holders to a plastic toy using a small drill bit and strong glue. Spray paint the entire thing and insert the candles. As always, keep an eye on the candles if you plan on lighting them. Or, they sell battery operated thin candles at the craft stores.

#5 Mason Jar Snow Globe

A wonderful snow globe that doesn't need water! Thread small white pom-poms on pieces of thread to create the effect of falling snow and stick them to the jar lid with tape or glue. Add little ornaments to create a scene, from the department store, inside the jar, on top of cotton balls or soap powder. Just make sure you give this decoration a prime location in the house, because it's definitely worth showing off.

#6 Paper Straw Trees

Do you have leftover colored straws from all those gatherings and parties throughout the year? Put them to good use by cutting them in staggered pieces and gluing them together to make this colorful little tree ornament. Create an alternating pattern, stick to a single color or do one of each. This is an easy craft that even the smallest elves can tackle. For the stars, cut out a piece of plastic from a milk jug and paint it with glitter glue!

#7 Salt Dough Ornaments

Perfect for a rainy or snowy day when you can't run out for supplies, these salt dough ornaments only require three ingredients you probably already have (salt, flour and water). Roll it out and get creative with the shapes or use your cookie cutters. Bake them, then let the little ones paint their favorite holiday designs on them. Use ribbons to hang as ornaments. These can be made anytime of year and saved to paint when the time is perfect.

#8 Paint Chip Garland

One of my favorites. The next time you're at the hardware store, swing by the paint department and snag a bunch of swatches. They're free! Trace your design on the back and get cutting. This is a great project for kids that are just learning to how to handle a pair of safety scissors. String them together with nylon string or ribbon by gluing them 1 inch apart from the backside.

#9 Tin Can Christmas Tree

Hit the recycling bin for assorted tin cans and you're on your way! Get the kids involved by having them snoop for all sorts of cans. Spray paint the cans green then hot glue (adults should do this step) the three cans together, larger to smaller. Make ornaments from things like pom-poms and small bows and attach a small magnet to the back of each one so your kids can move them around all month long.

#10 Popsicle Stick Elf

Glue the popsicle sticks together ahead of time and let your kid handle the rest. Use felt to cut out the hat, ears, eyes and so on. Use a magic marker for the mouth and nose, or go crazy with that felt! It's easy and cute, and so much fun for the little ones.

#11 Snowflake Painings

Use masking tape to make a snowflake shape or a tree, on a blank canvas and let your kids go crazy with different shades of blue and white paint. Let the canvas dry overnight before carefully removing the tape to reveal the masterpiece underneath. How simple could this be? The only mess is the paint, and they have some that is made just for this reason..it's easy to clean up.

#12 Pine Cone Trees

Take the kids on a nature walk and collect fallen pine cones along the way. Then go home and turn them into the cutest mini Christmas trees with a touch of glitter. Stick them into clay or dough for the stand and let the kids decorate with pom poms, buttons, or any other tiny shiny things. So adorable!

#13 Coffee Filter Snowflakes

Transform your windows into snowflake covered works of art with something most of us use every morning: coffee filters. Fold the filters in half making a triangle, three folds, then cut little patterns out in random places along the folded edge. The results are a simply beautiful, one of a kind snowflake! Hang with double-sided tape and admire them straight on through the Winter.
