When the fitting room is roughly the size of Harry Potter's closet under the stairs. It's so small you can barely move and you keep bumping your elbows on the walls.

#2 Having to change out of skinny jeans to try on other clothes.

They may have seemed like a good idea when we left the house, but after wrestling out of their tight death grip and then going through the process again to put them back on, we immediately regret the decision… especially when we get to store number 3. Next time, we’ll be sure to wear leggings or better yet, a dress.

#3 Not Enough Hooks In Fitting Rooms

I’m pretty sure every girl has a nice bag that she doesn’t want to just toss on a dirty floor or even nice clothes that she wouldn’t want to have to put in the corner of a fitting room. I personally think that there are never enough hooks in fitting rooms to put both your personal items and all of the clothing that you’ve selected to try on. No one likes having to stack their items on one hook.

#4 Trying to sneak your BFF in the fitting room with you.

But then getting caught, so you're forced to try things on at separate ends of the fitting room area.

Then having to yell down the hall at your BFF to come out and look at your outfit. And the people waiting in line give you side eye for screaming in a public place.

#5 Dressing Room Curtains

They never fully close, do they? You just have to act fast and temporarily say goodbye to any semblance of modesty.

#6 When the sales assistant says she likes what you're wearing but you're not sure if she's being honest.

Is it rude to ask if she makes commission? That's the only way you can be sure if she's telling the truth....

#7 The Lighting

It seems so dim and unassuming—could it really be THAT different from the light in your bedroom? The answer is yes. In fact, it's transforming. In the wise words of Tina Fey, "You must not look in that mirror at your doughy legs and flat feet, for today is about dreams and illusions." I've seen things that cannot be unseen. Felt time slipping between my fingers. Questioned everything I thought I once knew.

#8

Having to run across the store barefoot to get another size. Because the fitting room attendant went MIA.

#9 Trying To Find Your Friends To Ask If What You Tried On Looks Good

Calling out to your friends through the fitting room walls or curtains to ask them how something looks, and you get no answer. So you sadly have to decide on your own whether or not you like what you’ve tried on.

#10 Having to bring 49 different sizes to the fitting room, because you've never shopped at that store before.

Since there are literally no regulations on sizing, you have no idea how that size 8 is really going to turn out.

#11 Getting Stuck in Clothes

It happens to us all. That dress slips on so easily then suddenly you find yourself stuck. It's like those Chinese finger traps! The seams tighten while you break into a sweat, desperately struggling to wiggle free. You fear you'll have to buy it—or worse, ask the dressing room attendant for help! The panic is real. One time my best friend had to sit on her knees while I forcefully yanked a prom dress over her head. Who knows what would have happened if I hadn't been there...

#12 Lazy Try-Ons

Perhaps the fitting room line is too long or the thought of taking off your socks, shoes and pants is just too much. Well, at least it's a great way to save time and money because you will NEVER buy that ribbed sweater dress you tried on over your jeans.
