Florida Man Arrested After He Cuts Off 5 Kittens Tails After Argument

James Steele Reid got into an argument with a farm owner. Reid grabbed a pair of garden scissors then mutilated five kittens and then walked out of a barn carrying the tails.

According to the report, he wanted the victim to "look at those cats and think of him."

Reid said the whole ordeal is “a big to-do about nothing, I don’t go around doing it, but it’s neat watching them run around without a tail."

He lost the fifth kitten’s tail, according to ClickOrlando. Reid was arrested on charges of animal cruelty.

Animal Control veterinarians say that the "tail docking" was done improperly due to the age of the kittens, lack of anesthetic and the wound not being stitched to assist with the healing process. The kittens were 4 weeks old.

"It was a “sick, disgusting, horrible thing to do," the farm owner's wife Chris Garemore told The Ocala Star-Banner.

Reid was released from jail after posting his $2,000 bond.
