Former Oklahoma State Senator Found Guilty Of Child Sex Trafficking.
A disgraced state senator has pleaded guilty to the charge of child sex trafficking in a disgusting case where several heinous acts were revealed before the court.
The despicable former Republican state senator, Ralph Shorty, entered a guilty plea while in court for the horrible acts he committed with minors. In exchange for the guilty plea, Judge Timothy DeGiusti agreed to drop 3 counts of child pornography that he faced charges for.
Senator Shortey was forced to resign back in March following his arrest. He was charged with transporting a minor for prostitution and child prostitution.
Arresting officers found the married father of 4 in a seedy motel with a 17-year-old teenaged male. He was accused of hiring him to have sex. The FBI got involved with the case after he was arrested. They then conducted a thorough investigation including searching Shortey's home in Oklahoma City.
Shortey was indicted on four federal charges in September. The charges included the production of child pornography. From 2016 to 2017 he allegedly filmed sexual acts with minors and in 2013 he used his cellphone to send videos involving a young girl and several young boys.
Shorty was also charged with child sex trafficking for soliciting minors to engage in commercial sex acts back in March on the 8th and 9th. This is the same incident that Shortey ended up being arrested for in the first place. Following his federal indictment, the initial child sex trafficking state charges were dismissed.
Once the Judge sentences Shortey, he will face a minimum of 10 years in prison with a maximum of life. He will also receive a $250,000 fine for engaging in sex trafficking. The judge has yet to set a date for sentencing.
