Wednesday evenings are typically busy at Frenchy’s Chicken on Richmond Avenue. This one was no different.

The story began when Manager Ahmed Elmadhoun noticed a woman, accompanied by her three-year-old granddaughter, entering the restaurant and joining one of the lines.

Upon reaching the counter, the woman requested a private word with Elmadhoun, deviating from the usual routine of placing an order.

The woman’s story broke Elmadhoun’s heart.

During their conversation, Elmadhoun discovered that the grandmother was in a very bad situation - she had no money to buy food.

Moreover, she was responsible for feeding her 10 grandchildren and her vehicle had run out of gas.

She approached Elmadhoun with a proposal: to receive food that evening and return the next day to pay for it with her tax money, offering her identification cards to prove she will be back.

Elmadhoun had a different idea.

Elmadhoun, confronted with an unusual request, empathized with the woman's plight.

He recounted to KHOU 11:

"Definitely not something you hear every day - She was really going through a tough time. She was pretty embarrassed. I said, 'Don't. We all go through tough times.'"

Despite refusing to accept the woman's ID cards, Elmadhoun sprang into action, preparing a substantial meal for her to take home to her family.

He filled a to-go bag with a variety of delicious items.

The manager generously made a large box of chicken, sides, and even a sweet dessert for the children, without charging the grandmother.

He assured her that the meal was on him.

Elmadhoun later reflected: "She was so relieved. She had a smile on her face. She was in awe, couldn't believe someone would do that."

If Elmadhoun's kindness wasn't enough, he also informed the woman that she could return if she faced the same problem in the future, reassuring her with the words:

"We're here for you."

A couple of other diners witnessed the entire scene and were also touched by the manager’s kindness.

Customer Lowe Petties, deeply moved by Elmadhoun's gesture, shared the story on Facebook, beginning with:

"God bless this man."

She detailed the manager's generosity, stating:

"He bought her 25 pcs of chicken family sized fry and greens, he gave her bread drinks and cake with his own money. He told her you owe me nothing and if you get hungry tomorrow COME BACK. Then a patron of the establishment along with Andre Petties put gas in her car. LOOK AT GOD!"
