One thing everyone should know is that you do not mess with Swifties. They’ll drag you down to hell all while playing a catchy bop in the background. What happens when a predatory Airbnb host meets a determined swiftie? This.

Ariel Stewart was excited to book a trip to New Orleans to see Taylor Swift with her stepdaughter and her mother. She found the perfect spot on Airbnb and made the booking.

Soon after she started receiving messages from the host trying to coerce her into rebooking into a different property.

Initially, she tried to get Ariel to switch the booking over to a property that was further away from the venue.

She even tried to convince Ariel that the error in prices was a fault on Airbnb’s part and that it would be simplest for Ariel to rebook. “Unfortunately the pricing has not been properly set for these dates yet. We can accommodate you, but we will have to collect additional funds.”

Ariel was suspicious of this conversation and decided to reach out to Airbnb herself. That’s when she realized that the host was playing a different game. She declined the offer and said she would not be canceling on her end.

“After speaking with Airbnb, you can choose to cancel me but it will penalize you and block those dates from being booked in the future.”

The Airbnb host was incensed by this response. She sent tirade after tirade, calling Ariel friendless, all while asking her to cancel on her end.

“100 percent, you will not be staying here. You’re welcome to justify your behavior to whoever will listen.”

After a lot of back and forth, the truth came out with the Airbnb host saying that they wanted to get more money for the property.

At this point, Ariel had stopped responding to her messages but left a review later on. The property owner reached out to Ariel again and threatened to call her employer.

Ariel simply reported the threats to Airbnb.

Ariel said that she was not being ‘difficult’ when one commenter called her out. Doesn’t seem like my fair booking at whatever price I booked and paid $1,800 mattered. The host did not plan accordingly and wanted to upcharge me to $1200, making my stay $2,400.”

Sometime later, Ariel came across a new booking under a completely different name, showing the same property going for $1,299 per night.
