What are blackheads?
Blackheads are small bumps that appear on your skin due to clogged hair follicles. They are a feature of mild acne, but they can appear without other signs of acne being present. Blackheads appear most frequently on the face, back, neck, chest, arms, and shoulders. There are more hair follicles in these areas.
How blackheads form?
According to Michelle Henry, a board-certified dermatologist and clinical instructor of dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, "Blackheads form when the opening of a hair follicle becomes clogged or plugged with dead skin cells and oil, This material gets oxidized by the air and appears black, hence the name blackhead."
Causes
Heavy sweating.
The buildup of the Propionibacterium acne bacteria on the skin.
Some health conditions, such as stress, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
Hormonal changes.
Irritation of the hair follicles when dead skins cells don’t shed on a regular basis.

The popping pimples on his nose clip only run for 10 seconds, was first uploaded in March 2016 has recently gained a lot of new attention online because of his simple and successful technique.
Below are the do's and don'ts of blackheads.
Non-comedogenic makeup
Makeup contains talc and titanium dioxide and other powders that can clog pores, use non-comedogenic products that do not clog pores.
Cleansing
Clean your skin every morning and night with an oil-free cleanser. Special scrubs for gently exfoliating the face can help. When you do exfoliate, cleanse and wash your face, use a light touch and avoid harsh scrubbing.
Treat topically
Topical treatments are effective for many people and you can even see improvement within a few days. Even after blackheads disappear, you may need to continue applying treatment to prevent future breakouts.
Don't treat with hydrogen peroxide
According to a study published in 2013 in the "Journal of Cosmetic Science," hydrogen peroxide can reduce both inflammation and lesion size over short-term periods of up to six weeks, but it's also an industrial-strength cleaner and bleaching agent.
Removers
Removal strips, masks, and vacuums should be used with caution, as these can irritate and damage the skin if misused.
