1. Use a pool noodle to protect the doors

If you have a small garage, attach half of a pool noodle to the wall. Your doors will keep their brand-new look.

Did you know hanging a tennis ball can help guide you when parking? Try this in your garage! Hang up a tennis ball in your garage that touches the front or back windshield when you park.

3. Make your own phone holder

Yours is broken? You probably have a rubber band somewhere. Stick it over the grill of your ventilation system and hang your phone in it. This could help for at least a few miles.

5. During cold nights, park your car facing east

Even if cold weather is supposed to be behind us, remember to park your car facing east if you can. With the sun coming up from this side, your front windshield will be warmed up at first light.

6. For cars stuck in snow, mud or sand

If you ever find yourself stuck one day, put the car carpet in front of the wheel. Even if it skids a bit, the car should come on top of it and if you have a little patience you will be able to get out of this mess. Another option is to find a piece of wood and put it underneath the wheel.

You can use silicon or paper cupcake molds to avoid crumbs and other kinds of filth from collecting in cupholders. This will make it easier to clean.

9. A way to know which side your gas tank is on

Gone are the days when you would have to crank your neck to find out which side the gas tank is on! Here's a very simple tip to figure out where to pull into the gas station: Look at the little gas indicator on your dashboard, you should see a tiny arrow next to it. That arrow actually points to the side of your car with the gas tank.

10. Use mayonnaise to take stickers off

Another strange idea. However, if you put some mayonnaise on the sticker and let it take effect for about 5 minutes, you should be able to take it off very easily without leaving any glue behind.

11. Clean nooks and crannies with a screwdriver and a cleaning cloth

Remember to Clean Nooks and Crannies! Detailing means just thatfinding and dealing with all the trim lines and recesses that a quick once-over cleaning job misses. Wrap a cloth around an old, worn screwdriver (without sharp edges) and spray Simple Green or other all-purpose cleaner on the cloth. Move it gently along the trim lines to pick up the gunk. Keep refreshing the surface of the cloth. Go around all the buttons and controls as well. Follow up with a rejuvenator like Armor All.

12. Avoid condensation

There are different ways to do this. You can put cat liter into a sock and put it as close as possible to the window or clean your windows with white vinegar and newspaper. You can also cut a potato in half and wash the windows with it. For this last one, you'll need to rub them down with a clean, dry towel.
