You won't believe how this man takes junked cars and sculpts them into pieces of automotive art.
He Turns Scrap Cars Into Beautiful Sports Cars Using EXPANDING FOAM
#1 From Trash To Class
Audronis Gestautas of Lithuania take junk cars he finds and turns them into beautiful sports cars that double as amazing pieces of artwork.
#2 He Removes All Of The Old Parts And Paints
The car he is working on started life as a Mercedes Benz CL that was left for scrap when it deteriorated and would not run.
#3 Foam Time
Expanding foam is the first step of the transformation, as it allows you to carve the shape of the new car! He mixes up batches of PU foam in 2-liter soda bottles before "applying" them to the framework of his creation.
#4 Sculpting
He begins by using Kevlar and fiberglass to reshape the body of the car. He sculpts the car until he gets the perfect sports car shape.
#5 Stenciling
That's when he takes stencils made of metal, cardboard, and actual car pieces and begins to outline the details of the vehicle. Until it looks like this!
#6 Two Years Of Stenciling And Sculpting
This will turn into a super car from scrap metal, polyurethane foam and some 30-inch wheels he found. It took two years to complete and was first displayed in the test drive pits of Top Marques, Monaco.
#7 Adding Fine Deatils
Adding the headlights, curves and minor details is what makes the car truly amazing. All from his own imagination, creativity and FOAM.
#8 The Interior
Next he foams the entire interior of the car, designing and sculpting the drivers seat, dashboard, and even the door frames. He removes all the old and outdated fixtures and prepares it for his own additions after his carving is completed.
#9 The NEW Interior
Entirely handcrafted, the dash, seats, doors, and headliner have been masterfully trimmed in beautiful beige leather, Alcantara [a durable faux suede], and limited edition Swarovski fabric. And, all the buttons and switches have been replaced by Swarovski crystals, with hand stitched upholstery done by his wife.
#10 The Finished Product
And THIS is what it looks like now! The front end view shows off a stunning car anyone would love to own. The car, now named the Mercedes CL500 AG Excalibur, started life as a Mercedes Benz CL and reached its current state with a lot of PU foam, which is typically used in the building trade to fill gaps in brickwork.
#11 Rear View
Aside from the redesigned body, the massive 24-inch front and 30-inch rear custom spinner wheels are truly one of a kind. Custom hydraulic suspension supports the oversize wheels, while equally enormous eight-piston Brembo brake callipers help bring the AG Excalibur to a stop.
#12 From Junk To A Beauty And $430 Thousand Dollars
Polyurethane, the wonder-polymer used in everything from appliances and textiles to electronics and footwear, is apparently the car building material-of-choice for this "sculptor". The car was sold on eBay last year for £30,200. ($434,000 US Dollars).
