#1 Lavender

Lavender is a flower plant with an extremely decent scent that belongs to the mint family "Lamiaceae". Smell of lavender is mainly liked by many people but its fragrant disliked by insects such as, mosquitoes, moths, insects and flies. So in case you get irritated with these flies, put lavender pots outside of your house or you can plant it in your garden to keep the surrounding areas free from mosquitoes and other bugs. You can also apply oil of lavender to skin to keep bugs away from you. It also nourishes the skin with no side-effects. If you have sensitive skin, mix the lavender oil with aqueous cream and then apply to skin.


#2 Basil

Basil herb is very useful to keep mosquitoes and houseflies away because it makes a powerful repellent when grown nearby. Essential oil is extracted from basil herb and used as a spray for prevention or leave some basil leaves on windows or terrace to keep bugs away from you. This herb repel bugs as well as scent the room with an excellent perfume, that's why this plant is known as "Queen of sweet-smelling herbs".


#3 Marigold

Marigold, most loved flower of many people. It is supposed to be one of the best pest control. Planting marigold pots helps to repel mosquitoes and aphids. Not only it will repel bugs but also light up the garden with blossoms. Marigolds contain Pyrethrum, a compound utilized as a part of numerous insect repellents. Put marigolds pots close to the entrance of house and mosquito entry points like open windows and stay away with these irritating insects.

#4 Catnip

Catnip plant keep mosquitoes away. It is an effective mosquito repellent. It contains a natural chemical known as "Nepetalactone", which is valuable for repellent while ten times more effective than DEET. Some people apply the crushed catnip leaves on skin or place catnip plants near the house to keep mosquitoes away from you.
