#16. Banpo Bridge, Seoul, South Korea.
The answer for this uniquely beautiful bridge is - Banpo Bridge, Seoul, South Korea.
The World's Longest Double Decker Fountain Bridge.
The Banpo Bridge is a major bridge in downtown Seoul over the Han River, South Korea, connecting the Seocho and Yongsan districts. The bridge is on top of Jamsu Bridge, forming the upper half of a double-deck bridge; it is the first double deck bridge built in South Korea.[4] During periods of high rainfall, the Jamsu Bridge is designed to submerge as the water level of the river rises, as the lower deck lies close to the waterline. The bridge was built as a girder bridge and was completed in 1982
It takes water from the river underneath it and using the 10,000 nozzles that line each side, pumps it over the sides of the bridge. The enormous spouts are created by the use of 38 pumps which feed a total of 720 water nozzles. The fountain is considered eco-friendly as the water is pumped straight from the Han River and is recycled again and again. Just don't mention the electricity it takes to affect that, or indeed the bill for the lighting. The pumps draw a staggering 10 tons of water each minute from the river, which is twenty meters below the (top) Banpo Bridge
Moonlight Rainbow Fountain or as some refer to it as The Magic Rainbow Fountain immediately broke the Guinness World Record for the world's longest bridge fountain when it opened in 2009, much to the delight of the population of Seoul. It has close on 10,000 LED lights running across both sides of the 1,495 meter bridge.
