Nitin Vishwakarma, 30, shot his noggin when he scratched himself with a loaded nail-gun while working on a building site in his native Mumbai, India.
But rather than being the nail in his coffin, the iron spike left him with little more than a throbbing headache.
This is Nitin Vishwakarma, a construction worker from Mumbai, India.
He recently suffered a pretty horrific injury working a job site.
He fired a nail into his head!
But rather than it being the nail in his coffin, the iron spike left him with little more than a throbbing headache.
Apparently, he was scratching his head with a nail gun and accidentally fired it into his skull.
Vishwakarma, 30, shot his noggin when he scratched himself with a loaded nail gun while working on a building site in his native Mumbai, India.
The amazing part is, he didn't seek treatment for it for three days!
It took him DAYS to realize there was a barb lodged in his brain.
"I got back home and took a painkiller and slept", Mr Vishwakarma said.
When the pain didn't subside, he sought treatment.
It was only after he noticed the pain wasn't going away that miraculous Mr. Vishwakarma sought medical attention.
He was rushed straight into a three-hour operation to remove the nail after doctors saw the startling CT scan pictures.
Amazingly, he was just fine.
Doctors were surprised anyone could survive such an injury, let alone ignoring it for several days.
Dr. Pramod Kubade, a neurosurgeon at the Star Hospital in nearby Pune, said: "It is indeed a miracle that the man survived such a grave injury."
He somehow managed to miss any part of his brain that dealt with memory or movement.
The nail was lodged in one of the only parts of the brain that doesn't control any important part of the mind or body, the expert said.
"It is an area that has no easily discernible cognitive, motor or sensory functions and didn't damage the vital arteries that carry blood to the brain", Dr Kubade explained.
"The patient's brain stem wasn't damaged and the arteries carrying blood to the brain were also safe."
Doctors expect him to make a full recovery.
Medical marvel Mr Vishwakarma is expected to make a full recovery over the next few weeks.
We've all learned an important lesson: don't scratch your head with a nail gun!
