When the first issue of Playboy was published in 1957, Hef was married to Mildred Hefner. The couple would end up divorcing in 1959. Once he was single, Hef started to live the life he regularly promoted. He surrounded himself with hot women, held huge parties and truly lived the Playboy life. He would marry again in 1989 before divorcing Kimberly Conrad in 2010.

After the end of this marriage, he turned to the only life he knew. Now an old man, he had 7 girlfriends at one point before dropping down to only 3 and eventually proposing to Crystal Harris.

Haris broke things off with Hefner in 2011 before getting back together with him the next year. They would marry in December of 2012. She was 25, he was 85. They remained married until he passed away earlier this year.

When he died, he was worth $43 million. It has been leaked that none of his beneficiaries including his 4 kids would be dropped from the will if they break a simple rule he put in place.

Before marrying Crystal, Hef made her sign a very strict prenup. He wanted her to be taken care of though so he did leave her $5 million and a luxurious house in his will. Along with his kids and a few other close friends, Crystal was there at his funeral when they laid him to rest beside Marilyn Monroe.

Back to his will. The remainder of the Hefner fortune was left to his kids. Cooper and Marston can be seen in the photo below. His son Cooper, took over for him as the CCO of Playboy.

His oldest children, Christie and David were also featured as beneficiaries in his will.

Hef lived a life of extremes but he really hated drugs and alcohol. He thought that they destroyed lives and he didn't want anyone close to him to deal with them at all. That's why this rule doesn't come as a surprise.

Should his widow or any of his 4 kids become addicted to nonprescription drugs they will lose their inheritance, documents revealed by The Blast stated.

The documents also added this: "If the Trustees reasonably believe that as a result the beneficiary is unable to care for himself or herself, or is unable to manage his or her financial affairs, all mandatory distributions… to the beneficiary… will be suspended."

If one of the beneficiaries thinks that one of the others is abusing a substance they have the right to order them to take a drug test. Hef was strict but he wasn't giving up on them completely. If they could get sober and remain that way for a year their inheritance would be restored.

Christie had this to say about her dad: "We’re fortunate in my family because we really have three families: my brother, David, and me; the two boys, Cooper and Marston, from my dad’s second marriage; and my dad’s wife, Crystal. There’s huge mutual respect and love among all of us, so that’s a kind of funny support system, even though everybody has a different kind of grief."

She continued, saying: "I feel for the boys because they had their dad for far fewer years than David and I did, and of course Crystal lost a husband. It’s not the same, but underlying it all we lost the same person whom we loved. The fact that we’re close and care so much about each other is a huge plus, and it’s something he knew when he was alive. Honestly, even when he sometimes behaved regrettably, he was not good that way. Consequently, he wasn’t apt to have a would-have, could-have, should-have attitude about things. How he definitely changed was he found it much easier to express how important people were to him and how much he loved them – not just with family but with other people he was close to."
