The Bugatti Veyron has been known as one of the world's fastest cars reaching speeds of 267 mph. Even the Hennessey Venom GT is known as a high speed reaching competitor having reached speeds of 271 mph. However, there is a new Swedish car that is fast enough to knock both of these cars out of the competition. Let us introduce you to the newest fastest car in production on the whole planet.
If You Thought The Bugatti Veyron Was Fast Check Out The New Koenigsegg Agera RS
#1
This is the Koenigsegg Agera RS. It recently hit crazy maximum speeds of 272 and 284 mph in two separate runs. This car makes the Bugatti and Venom look like runaway dodgem carts. It is crazy fast.

This £1.5 million vehicle demonstrates the hurricane-power that this car wields from the cockpit perspective. Could you imagine?

The driver, Niklas Lilja, took this bad boy out on a closed 11 mile stretch of highway in Nevada near Las Vegas. In the beginning, he kept things steady. Then, he slowly built up the momentum in order to not overwork the tires. Once he felt the car was securely planted to the road, he really opened it up. It was like a crazy roller coaster ride.
#4
Lilja said that Michelin showed some concern about what the impact of the high speeds would do to the tires. However, the engineers from Koenigsegg assured them that these specific tires would not generate excess wear and heat. We have been told that the tires still looked brand spanking new once the speed record was officially broken.
#5
Lilja said that driving at 100 mph was a quiet and smooth ride, but once he hit 280, it got bumpy. He was going downhill with a tailwind and after hitting 284.55 mph, he knew he had to stop pushing the car to go any faster.
#6
What is really cool is that they believe this car could go even faster if they could equip it with more technologically advanced tires that are built to withstand the heat and pressure from traveling at super high velocities.

The Koenigsegg website uses the following description for the Agera RS:
"The Agera RS is the ultimate in road and track versatility...It offers the most extreme performance available today and yet is fully road legal, complying with safety standards and other necessary homologation requirements worldwide."
