Johnny Depp Tries To Control Laughter After Amber Heard's Attorney Objects To His Own Question During Trial
Johnny Depp was seen trying to control his laughter at a blunder made by Amber Heard's lawyer during the defamation trial.
On Monday, Heard's lawyer Ben Rottenborn made a very cringe mistake after he objected to his own question, this led to Depp involuntarily laughing which the actor tried his best to cover.
Depp,58 is suing his wife for writing an op-ed for The Washington Post in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse. Heard did not directly name Depp but according to the Pirates of The Caribbean actor, his career and his personal life blew up after his ex-wife made these allegations against him.
Following the allegations, Depp was dropped from several big-budget projects including the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and Harry Potter prequel franchise Fantastic Beasts.
When Depp's house manager, Ben King was inquired about the incident where Depp got his finger injured, he was asked to recall an incident where Depp's finger was severed - allegedly by his ex-wife.
"Dr. Kipper had told me he had sustained an injury on one of his --" the house manager began, before being interrupted by Rottenborn.
As Johnny Depp's legal team continued its questioning, Judge Penney Azcarate warned courtroom attendees to maintain order or be thrown out when laughter erupted as Depp struggled to recall his own movies. "Objection - hearsay," said the attorney. The judge responded in bewilderment and reminded Rottenborn that he was the one who had asked about the incident, saying: "Wait - you asked the question."
Courtroom attendees were then sternly warned to maintain order on Monday after Depp prompted them to burst out laughing when the actor looked ashamed sharing that he could not remember any of his own franchise films.
After naming his one movie, Alice in Wonderland, Depp appeared blank, then cracked a joke about avoiding watching his own films.
"I'm so pathetic when it comes to knowing what movies I've done," he said with a smile, per The Independent. "I'm sorry. I just, I don't watch them. I feel better not watching them. What was the question again?"
As the actor innocently answered, people, sitting in the courtroom couldn't help themselves but laugh out loud.
Judge Azcarate hushed them and even threatened to have them kicked out, saying: "Order in the court or I will have you removed. Understood? Thank you."
