Lucky Las Vegas Gambler Won A Jackpot And Becomes Instant Millionaire After Turning $40 Into $10 Million

The outcome does look like a miraculous event, and it's rather fitting that the winner in this case was identified as none other than 'Jesus C' - only that this Jesus was from Las Vegas.

Instead of spending his time trying to turn water into wine, this man took a different route. He ventured to Boyd Gaming's Cannery Casino and Hotel, opting for a change from his usual visits to Orleans and Gold Coast casinos.

Encompassing 28 acres, the entertainment complex features a sprawling 72,000-square-foot gaming area, restaurants, and additional amenities. It was within this expansive setting that Jesus took a seat at a Megabucks slot machine, inserting a sum of $40 (£31). No doubt with the hope of making some kind of profit - however big.

It's worth noting at this point that IGT’s Megabucks slots game is famous for paying the casino industry’s largest slots jackpots, according to Boyd Gaming.

With its jackpot meter resetting at an impressive $10 million (£7.8 million) in Nevada, the game has the largest base progressive amount of any slots game in the United States.

Of course, such circumstances don't guarantee a win. However, at precisely 5:28am on July 7th, Jesus' machine aligned three Megabucks symbols, triggering a remarkable jackpot amounting to $10,488,726.

On the casino floor, the lucky gentleman was presented with a check for his winnings, who was understandably over the moon with the outcome of his night gambling.

Captured in a photograph, he enthusiastically gave a huge thumbs up to the camera as he stood behind his giant check. He also revealed his intention to use the winnings to purchase a house for his mother.

I doubt anyone would reject a substantial $10.4 million, although it's worth noting that Jesus' victory wasn't the most sizable Megabucks jackpot on record.

That happened in 2003, when one very lucky winner secured a whopping $39 million (£30.7m).
