A dental robot trying to bite people has given a major scare to the people on social media with theories of artificial intelligence already circulating on the Internet.

The video shows someone touching the bottom lip of the doll before it begins to swing in every direction with its cold, mean eyes staring blankly into the abyss.

The short video clip shared on Twitter is enough to give anyone goosebumps and many people have now been raising questions over where this doll has come from, and what its true purpose is. It seems that the angry robot is supposed to be used by practicing dentists, and is apparently a Japanese invention.

Reportedly the robot may be a collaboration between the dental and sex industries. Vice found that in 2011, two universities initiated this idea to safely enhance their dental practicing.

Showa University required the help of two companies; one was robotics developer Tmusk, and the other was the sex doll creator Orient Industry.

Orient industry was given the task to make the dolls more reactive.

Nippon Dental University developed a reactive robot called Simroid, which is even more reactive to prompts than other robots. With that in mind, the doll’s origin still needs to be narrowed down and despite the really uncomfortable and terrifying video it still gives us some comfort that the doll is intended for dental practice only though it seems like this clip will continue to haunt people for a long time.
