A man was observed walking slightly awkward at the airport through an airport turned out to have a number of gold bars stashed away up his butt.

The unknown Indian man, who has best not named, took a GoAir flight between Dubai and Kerala when he was discovered by staff.

The amount of gold found from his butt totaled to near 1 kilogram.

One does not have to be a genius to realize that a kilogram is a lot to stuff up on a butt.

Anyway, it's thought that the man was attempting to get the bars into Kannur Airport to avoid paying an 18 percent tax on the gold.

Though he was observed by airport staff to be walking with a strange gait and was stopped and checked by security and officials from the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU).

The crazy smuggler was then taken to a secure area of the airport and searched, upon which they laid eyes on his shiny cargo.

After weighing the heavy metal, it came out to be a total of 1470 grams in compound form.

On probe, the man told authorities that he wanted to avoid paying the heavy tariffs on gold.

Sharing their bizarre find on Facebook, the AIU wrote: "AIU Kannur seized 1470gm gold in compound form (1316gm extracted) from a passenger who arrived from Dubai by flight G8 4013.

"The gold was concealed in his rectum."

The organization even shared pictures of the melted gold that was broken down into seven and a quarter pieces.

Honestly speaking, it looks like it would be fairly uncomfortable, to say the least.

Even though this act is fairly uncommon but the smuggling of gold from Arabic states to India is quite a common crime. But the length people go to avoid paying tariff is certainly mindboggling.

In recent times, gold has been found in chocolate boxes, secreted in purses, and hidden in everyday items such as pens, umbrellas, and tubes of toothpaste.

One case even saw a smuggled attempting to line their underwear with the precious metal.

It sure is a crazy world out there!
