Don't you hate it when you go to McDonald's in the morning because you want fries and a delicious Quarter Pounder or a 10 piece McNugget but they tell you "we are only serving breakfast at this time? Well, this guy took that hate to the extreme.
Man Becomes Enraged When Mcdonald's Isn't Selling Mcnuggets, Orders 200 Hash Browns.
Early morning cravings.
We have all been there. You are up early for one reason or another and find yourself super hungry but don't feel like cooking. The reason why you are up isn't important. What is important is that maybe you want something to eat and maybe that something is typically a lunch/dinner item. So you go to a fast food place to feed that craving. The only problem is, most fast food joints don't start serving lunch until 11 am.
If you look at it from that point of view, the actions of this man, 30, from Australia might be justified.
200 hash browns!
After arriving at around 5 am to a McDonald's in Sydney, Australia, an unnamed became extremely angry when he was told that he could not order McNuggets because they were only serving breakfast.
The man got so enraged that it's reported he drove 4 laps around the drive-through. On one of those laps, he decided to be a dick and get payback by ordering 200 hash browns. For those of us in the US, that's $100 worth of the potato-based breakfast staple typically sold 2 for $1.
The law gets involved.
Of course, our story doesn't end there. Instead of cooking his order, the McDonalds staff decided to call the police and stall the man until they arrived. Once police were on the scene they gave him a breathalyzer and as it turns out the man was legally drunk.
His blood alcohol level read at 0.175 which caused his license to be suspended. Now instead of waiting for juicy McNuggets, the man has to wait for a November 30th court date.
The reason for the menu separation.
If you ever wondered why McDonald's doesn't serve lunch/dinner options during breakfast hours the fast food giant actually provides an explanation on their website.
The explanation reads: "We only have the capacity to cook one set of products at a time. Breakfast and main menu items cook at different temperatures and we need the same set of equipment to cook sausage and eggs and beef patties."
The explanation really doesn't make sense.
The site continues: "We also would not cook beef and pork on the same grill at the same time. There is limited space in the kitchen and we have the maximum amount of grills at the moment in all our restaurants."
While that explanation seems a little lame (especially when you consider that many McDonald's chains sell breakfast items all day long) that is the explanation we are given.
While this case is certainly bizarre, it's far from the first chicken nugget related incident to involve law enforcement.
This isn't the first nugget related crime.
Back in June, a 19-year-old Washington woman was arrested after she pulled a gun on a drive through worker at a local Jack in the Box when she didn't give her the right amount of nuggets. It's just one of those things where you really can't condone her actions but you understand the reasoning behind them.
Nuggets are life.
It seems to me that nuggets are serious business and they should be treated as such. If not, nugget related crimes are sure to continue to increase until someone gets a clue and does something about it. What do you think?
