Man Buys $15 Router At Thrift Store, Finds Millionaire's Secrets On It

“Do not donate your old technology to Goodwill.”

The words of wisdom come from a TikToker who, after purchasing an outdated Apple Time Capsule from Goodwill for $15, was able to gain access to a businessman's confidential information.

The TikToker, going by the name of Willhem, said in a string of popular videos broadcast earlier this month that he purchased the old equipment to see if it still functions.

Willhem, however, found that the individual who gave it had neglected to delete information from it after bringing it home and connecting it.

The Time Capsule appeared to be the property of a businessman named Don, who had a ton of data, including his tax information, audit history, credit card information, bank account number, information about his life insurance, photos, and more, saved on it.

“The fact that I have access to this is crazy,” Willhem said.

The TikToker promised not to share Don's personal information, but he did say that, according to his financial data, Don was "worth millions of dollars."

“He was like a business owner or a CEO or something,” Willhem said.

He added, “and to answer the question that I know everyone’s going to ask, there was porn.”

How much information was stored on the Time Capsule surprised commenters?

“This is a NIGHTMARE of mine & exactly why I hoard every electronic I’ll ever have,” one person wrote.

“This is making me sweat and I’m not Don,” a commenter wrote.

Based on this TikTok, it appears that Apple's AirPort Time Capsule wireless router and the external hard drive were discontinued in 2018.

Willhem stated that he would probably delete the majority of the data since "it serves me no purpose and I feel uncomfortable retaining other people's material."

However, he stated that he was looking for Don's family to ask them for some of the photos on the Time Capsule.
