As reported by WGN-TV, a man is suing the fast food franchise for apparently attempting to deceive him in a class-action lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

“This class action seeks to challenge the false and deceptive marketing and advertising of Buffalo Wild Wings’ Boneless Wings,” the outlet said of the lawsuit.

“Indeed, the Products are more akin, in composition, to a chicken nugget rather than a chicken wing.”

Please don't inform this man that fries aren't actually French.

Aimen Halim, a resident of Chicago, visited the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Mount Prospect, Illinois, in January and placed an order for their infamous "boneless wings." This led to the filing of the complaint.

"Unbeknownst to plaintiff and other consumers, the products are not wings at all, but instead, slices of chicken breast meat deep-fried like wings," according to the lawsuit, obtained by USA TODAY.

It added that the ‘products are more akin, in composition, to a chicken nugget rather than a chicken wing’.

The attorneys who filed the lawsuit are also looking for additional clients who have eaten the wings at different fast-food restaurant chains.

"This clear-cut case of false advertising should not be permitted, as consumers should be able to rely on the plain meaning of a product’s name and receive what they are promised," the lawsuit reads, as per the outlet.

After the case, Buffalo Wild Wings allegedly poked fun at the man's claim.

On March 14 they amused their fans by posting the following: “It’s true. Our boneless wings are all white meat chicken.

“Our hamburgers contain no ham. Our buffalo wings are 0 percent buffalo.”

Many found it to be quite amusing.

One person wrote: “Perfect response to frivolous lawsuit ..”

Another said: “The fact someone is suing over the fact Boneless wings are breast meat just shows how litigious and dumb people can be. I hope @BWWings kicks their butt!”

A third commented: “I for one am outraged their Buffalo wings aren't made from Buffalo.”

While another shared: “Meanwhile, Buffalo Wild Wings' cheeky tweet reply highlights what we're all thinking: not every food term is literal, and consumers usually know without overthinking it which ones are and aren't.”
