We all have heard stories of things actors do to make it in the entertainment industry but have you ever wondered what porn stars have to do to make it in the adult industry? Well, if you are curious then here is some insight shared by famous adult actor Demetri XXX who shares how he stumbled upon his adult career and shares if someone thinks it is a cool and easy job, should think twice.
Man Who Works In Adult Films Shares What It Takes To Make It In The Industry
Well, most people watch porn but have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes and how people survive and make it in the adult film industry that is still considered a hush-hush topic for various reasons.
Demetri XXX made his debut in 2001 and hasn't looked back and is here to share what really happens behind the scenes.
After quitting his role as a business analyst, he has starred in hundreds of adult films.
Apart from acting, Demetri has directed and produced a number of films for Playboy and TVX and has won a few awards along the way too.
Back in 2018, the famous porn star gave an interview to LADbible and shared how he started his adult career after receiving a call from his agent, asking if he was 'happy to get naked' for some work.
The former business analyst, who was also working as a model at the time, thought 'why not' and decided to 'give it a go'.
He said: "Before you get offered any 'proper' roles, men are sent along for a casting. The audition process for men is different from women, of course.
"For me, I was sent to a set, there was no camera or crew - just one woman - she had a webcam set up and there were people logged in, paying to watch.
"They were sending in requests asking us to do things - telling us what positions to do, where to put what, etc.
"The main purpose of that process is to see if a man can get wood on demand. Loads of guys think they can, but when they're actually there they crumble. It's pretty daunting and it's definitely not for everyone."
Demetri shares: "It was quite easy. The woman was attractive, it was new and exciting. I enjoyed it.
"It was much more chilled than making a film. It's a good way to see if you're a fit for the industry and the industry is a good fit for you."
But if you are thinking it is that easy to join the industry and you are like 'cool, sign me up', then he offers a sobering word of warning about joining the industry.
"People think I have the best job in the world," he says. "And I'd say five percent of the time, I do. But it's also a lot of hard work.
"It's not like having sex with your girlfriend or whatever...everything is done to make the finished product look good.
"Sometimes there can be 20 or 30 people hanging around on set while you're trying to have sex; it's getting stopped and started; the positions you do are designed to look good on camera but aren't necessarily what you'd like to do at home. There's all these things.
"Obviously when it's good, it's great. You turn up, the woman is stunning and you get along, the director is your mate, there's a really good vibe, and, yeah, then it's great. But that's not the majority of the time, by any means."
