#1 Empathy is what we need during COVID-19 crises
You only need to be human to empathize and help others especially during times like these when everything is upside down in the world. This pandemic has hit the world badly, it has shown how weak humans really are and without each other, no one can really survive.
During the COVID-19 times, we have seen two types of people, one who has barged through the stores and hoarded on all the daily life essentials and made sure to provide for themselves only, even if it meant the other party gets nothing. Then there are those, who are selflessly volunteering during these global crises. These people include frontline workers too. These people are stepping out of their homes to serve others and ensuring that people get the help that they desperately need during these times. Among these kinds of people, one such person is actor Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves. The couple has teamed up with car company Lincoln to donate 110,000 face masks to rural Texas hospitals.
#2 "Don't be divided. We don't need two wars. We have one, against the virus."
Back in April too, the couple donated 80,000 masks to healthcare workers. Working with “Real Housewives of New York City” star Bethenny Frankel’s BStrong relief initiative, the couple gave out 80,000 face masks to hospital workers in Austin and New Orleans.
In a recent appearance on TV, the actor emphasized the need for face masks.
"Don't be divided. We don't need two wars. We have one, against the virus," he told CNN.
He believes masks have gotten too political when in reality, it should just be all of humanity versus the virus.
#3 Proving with his actions.
The Interstellar star says, "a badge of honor right now. About us uniting. Everyone do it, I'm protecting you, you protecting me." The actor is not the one who only speaks but he is proving with his actions too.
"Thanks to @lincoln for donating 110 thousand masks – me and @camilamcconaughey hitting the road to get em to rural hospitals in need across Texas," the actor shared on Twitter.

#4 The couple has been actively providing their support to the community relief during the pandemic.
This isn't the only time when McConaughey and his wife have played their role in providing community relief during the pandemic. Earlier in April, the couple hosted a virtual bingo game for a senior living facility in April, and Alves posted some of the interaction on Instagram.
