Perhaps frustrated with the legal system, one meth user in Minnesota took justice into his own hands, and beheaded his girlfriend's alleged rapist, The Daily Beast reports. One 35-year-old Joseph C. Thoresen was charged on Tuesday with second-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old David A. Haiman.
This wasn't a quick pull of the trigger, execution-style murder. Things got messy. Thoresen first bludgeoned Haiman with a baseball bat, then moved on to stabbing him in the belly before cutting his head off with a machete. This all happened on Sunday.

So here's what went down: Thoresen's girlfriend, referred to as K.D.G. in the report, said Haiman raped her, so the pair of vigilantes showed up at Haiman's apartment, where he allegedly agreed to be tied up as K.D.G went to town beating him up and broke his nose. According to police reports, Thoresen joined in on the ass whopping, telling Haiman he shouldn't have "raped my girl." Then, in what seems like a change in spirits, the three discussed buying some weed, and met up with a bunch of friends and got high on weed and meth. They then drove into the woods, and things got ugly.

From The Daily Beast:
At some point, a disagreement arose, and Haiman "repeatedly called them worthless pieces of shit and called her a slut," the complaint states. K.D.G. reportedly told police that Thoresen and Haiman argued and that there was "car trouble." Thoresen got out and opened the hood. When Haiman followed him out of the car, Thoresen allegedly hit him over the head with a baseball bat and stabbed him multiple times with a machete. K.D.G. told police that she tried to stop him and that Haiman was on the ground groaning and asking for help. Then Thoresen took a large knife and cut off Haiman's head, according to K.D.G.'s account to police.

Haiman was reported missing when he didn't show up for work. Police tracked down Thoresen when they spotted him driving Haiman's car with an obstructed license plate, that lead to a high-speed chase. Thoresen's friend who was with him in the car, referred to as T.M.C., ratted out Thoresen, telling police he'd admitted to killing Haiman.
If convicted, Thoresen faces up to 40 years in prison.
