It is obvious that artificial intelligence has recently had a major impact on the internet.

It's evident that we're all quite fascinated by whatever new phenomenon AI throws our way, from displaying what the 'perfect' man and woman look like to reproducing superstars as babies, which, by the way, makes for a very scary sight.

The newest AI development also mimics how each of the 50 states is thought to look by Europeans but beware—the results may make you unpleasant.

Oh, and this is by no means the first time artificial intelligence has caused controversy over the visuals it produces.

People can't help but take the results personally, which is understandable. Whether the results are about what the "average person" looks like in each and every US state, what the "most attractive man" looks like in each country, or what the "average person" looks like for each career.

Some of the models are at least somewhat comprehensible, while others—I'm looking at you New Mexico and Idaho—are simply absurd.

It is not an overstatement to say that these photographs are somewhat of an attack on the senses.

So, now that Americans have access to the different assumptions that are now prevalent in AI models, they can finally see what people in other countries really think of them.

Especially with the addition of some pretty insane props like wild creatures, one obscenely large potato, and, for some reason, enormous amounts of maize and seafood, all against some mind-boggling landscape.

Alabama is the first on the list, replete with a Krusty the Clown-inspired hairstyle, a toothless grin, and filthy attire.

Alabama appears to have unquestionably drawn the short straw among the group and will undoubtedly face some opposition.

Next up is California, the only woman out of the 50 states to emerge alone in an image. One of just 10 women who feature in the AI illustrations alongside other men and families.

She is seen with an adorable little dog under her arm and two, count 'em two, takeout coffees.

Many Californians could find this one acceptable because it's covered in a cool jumper, has beach waves, and matching sunglasses.

On the other hand, Florida is a whole other story.

Although the crazy "Florida Man" has been the subject of numerous memes for quite some time.

It appears that this particular picture creation has finally given the elusive and enigmatic figure a face.

Mr. Florida has a cheerful appearance and seems content to be here, but he seems like he could lose it at any time and live up to his reputation.

It's nothing new that many AI photos have numerous artifacts and references to the history and culture of the state, and Idaho is undoubtedly no different.

The man is just seated on a stool, holding an unusually huge spud while dressed in a tartan shirt and cap.

Mr. Idaho is undoubtedly confusing, sporting an expression that combines pride, fatigue, and a hint of despair.

A little strange, but that's AI for you.

Hawaii appears like it might be a vintage movie poster or a travel postcard, making it maybe the least visually demanding AI representation of the bunch.

The two people are sitting on a rock admiring the views of the beach.

While donning sunglasses, open-toe shoes, and necklaces made of flower garlands.

Oh, and there are Hawaiian shirts in the mix, of course.

Why do I feel like I've seen Mr. Massachusetts around before? Sweaty body, backward cap, a stressed-out pose.

Whether it's simple emotion or unbridled wrath. This one stands out from the rest without a doubt.

Nevada, yes.

We all likely expected some sort of allusion to Sin City or Las Vegas and the slot machines.

But we may have hoped for something a little more subtle.

However, despite what's happening behind him, it appears that this grandfather is enjoying the time of his life.

New Mexico.

I literally am at a loss for words beyond "What the heck?"

New Mexico and the many aliens behind him looked like something out of a corny sci-fi movie. It is absolutely not what I was expecting.

At this point, Texas seems to embody every single misconception about the state.

Mr. Texas will undoubtedly cause some controversy with his rifle in one hand and his head-sized hamburger in the other.

If I must say so myself, the background of the sunset behind him is remarkably calmer in contrast to the utter chaos that characterizes the remainder of the AI photographs.

There you go, I guess.

Wonder what AI will accomplish next.
