Model Who Lived Secret Life As Cartel Queen 'Ordered Husband’s Execution At Son’s 4th Birthday'
Camila Marodin, a model who lived a secret life as a cartel queen allegedly ordered her husband’s execution at their son’s fourth birthday party. She was arrested after Ricardo Marodin was shot dead during the family celebration.
Initially, police thought that Ricardo was the gang leader but further investigation into the case revealed that it was actually his wife who holds a senior position in the criminal organization in the coastal town of Matinhos, Parana.
During the investigation, police have even discovered her hoard of 13 luxury houses worth 3 million Brazilian real ($547,900) and five cars, including two Audis and a Porsche.
After Ricardo's death, Camila reportedly told police that the killing was likely a case of mistaken identity. However, the Brazilian beauty has been arrested after the shooting on charges of her husband's murder and the deaths of two former police officers.
Reportedly, police caught her on her way home from her mother’s house where she allegedly hid a Glock pistol.
The gun was buried in the garden which the police discovered later.
More than 1.3 million Brazilian real ($240,100) were also discovered in Camila’s bank account.
Military police said the officials have been after the gang for several years as part of Operation Ostentation, during which 39 weapons have been seized.
Colonel Hudson Leñncio Teixeira, commander of the Parana military police, said: “They showed off in high-end places, with expensive cars and motorcycles.
“They didn’t hide anything they got from crime, drug trafficking and money laundering.”
The police have arrested 14 other people.
Police spokesperson Colonel Barroso said Camila’s arrest was already planned by officials but it had to be brought forward after the deaths of her husband and former policemen Thiago Cesar Carvalho and Guilherme Antonio da Costa.
They were killed in the neighborhood of Cajuru in the Parana state capital Curitiba three days after Ricardo.
Reports further reveal that Ricardo was murdered at his son’s fourth birthday party in the city of Pinhais where four armed suspects arrived in a silver Volkswagen Voyage and fired multiple shots at Ricardo, who died on the spot.
Only a few days later on the morning of November 10, two former cops were shot dead by gunmen in a silver Volkswagen Voyage – possibly the same one used in Ricardo’s shooting.
Homicide investigator Tito Barichello suspects that the crimes could be related as Ricardo and Thiago knew each other.
