Todd Orr lives in bear country in the southwest of Montana and he shares his first hand experience of what it’s like to be attacked by a mother grizzly when you get too close to her cubs.

Orr explains in the video that he encountered the mother and her cubs in the woods, from 80 yards away the mama bear sprinted at him without warning. Orr had nothing but a can of bear spray to protect himself with so he used it quite liberally.

Sadly that wasn't enough to deter the grizzly, she swiped him upside the head and went to town on his left arm. The bear spray eventually kicked in, causing the bears to flee the scene with Orr still alive. With his legs working and major organs intact he was able to walk away, even made a little video while he waited for help to arrive.

#3 Orr ends the video with a warning: “Be safe out there. Bear spray doesn’t always work, but it’s better than nothing.”
